Is it better to do cardio immediately before your work out or right after? Also would swimming be better then running?

Always after, normally a light jog or brisk walk is better for a bodybuilder.

Swimming is something that works your whole body....so i assume u wouldnt want to do that to avoid over working yourself

I agree, I would do cardio after weight training, it's hard for me because I hate cardio, but it's better afterwards. If you can, which I do, I will eat a small portion of protein/carb's right after weights and right before cardio. Nothing heavy just a little something to soak into those repairing muscles.

after like lifts said, need the energy to throw the weights around instead of using it for cardio, plus then you get a cool down period

I do cardio after lifting weights. I heard weight lifting will burn off teh carbs and light cardio afterwards will make your body switch to fat burning. Lifts has a good article about this somewhere but I can't find it.

thanks for replys guys. what about light cardo and abs on your off days when using a 3 day splitting program?

If your goal is to loose bf then go ahead and do cardio 4-5 times a week 35-45 min per session the days you don't lift you will be able to go a little harder
