My college is holding a USPF competition next month. 3 major lifts obviously, and I think I'll do pretty good. I'll be lifting in the Junior category. Looking for a good bench shirt. I'm at about 465 -470 on the bench. I heard a good shirt will put on 50 lbs to your bench?! Benching 500 at 200 lbs. I know for a fact noone in my age group in this county will touch that. I'm fairly confident, OTHER than the fact I just had surgery on my forearm and lower back (removed lumps) so I'm all stitched up. I can't do deadlifts or squats so I'm freaking out. I'm getting nervous. I can't really afford to take a couple weeks off from lifting. One week isn't bad (could actually be beneficial) but 2 or 3 (I'm not on gear so I feel like I'll lose it all) What should I do? I've got stitches in for 3 weeks. I wonder if I can still lift with them in. A friend told me to take a week off and they should be fine after that. idk. oh well...we'll see. Anyone ever lift with stitches in? I'm concerned with the ones on my lower back

I'm not sure how old you are but a number of 200 pound powerlifters touch 500.

20 yrs. old, around here they don't. a little more downstate towards the city I know there's guys hitting close to 600 - 700 at my weight! Thisis just a local comp. I'm more concerned about my stitches coming out right now.

They have a big bench comp in my area every year, you would be at or very near the top of pack under 200lbs.

that's cool. My area really has nothing for pl'ers. There's a few places in the city where WSB hosts a comp once and awhile or metal militia. those are awesome to watch if you like powerlifting.
