One word of advice I would give to anyone is save save and then save some more.

one question for you..........how can you save when for the last few yrs all bills have increased on me, yet my wife and I make virtually the same amount?

I mean seriously in this area we live in, pay raises are just non existant. My wife busts her butt for $10/hour

saving anything is out of the question.
