Three of the biggest progress killers are.

I don't "feel" like I'm doing enough.

I don't "feel" sore enough.

I don't "feel" like I am getting a good enough pump.

All that stuff is TOTALLY irrelevant if you are making good progress and getting stronger each week.

with the average gym rat few ever overtrain but with us obsessive compulsive sobs its very common for us to push it too far . sometimes less is more .
 
Tracking your resting heart rate, in the morning b4 getting out of bed is a great way to determine your training status. If its going down you are fine and good to train harder. If there is an upward trend then most likely you are over training.

A study done by the Dr.'s at the US Olympic Training facilaty showed that catastrophic injuries were always preceeded by a sharp rise in resting heart rate coupled with weight loss.
 
i have made more progress on cutting back my chest routine to 4 exercises compared to the 7 i was at before
