It's been almost a year since I've squatted havey. I lost almost 30 pounds after my injury. Today at 180 I squatted 405 for 7....I was happy but now I think I may have a hiatal (spelling) hernia. Feels like I ripped my stomach right under my diaphragm. It hurts to just breathe. Hopefully it's just a strained abdominal muscle.

I used to get that all the time and heartbun, I got a script for prilosec. I even thought sometime I was having a heart attack.

Uh, be careful... I haven't experienced that... Awesome lift though! Givin props! :)

Keep it progressing and know when to stop. It's all about pushing yourself, but being smart about every rep and all form! good job!

Yes I get serious heartburn with heavy deads and squats. I take ranitidine 150 mgs but doesn't seem to do much. And other times it just feels like serious gas cramping after heavy squats??? seems weird. I'll take 5 or 6 days off from legs and see what happens.

Thanks, nice to see that you're back at it as well. It's such a great feeling being back and doing what you love

That's my problem. I know when to stop but i keep going for that one more rep...After 4 I was feeling about done but kept going anyways. That's how I got hurt in the first place. You'd think I'd learn after so many problems but too goddamned stubborn

Actually the heartburn I was thinking could be from my belt being on too tight or something. I hate belts because they make any lift painful but I don't dare go much over 4 w/out one. I know I can't breathe half way thru my lifts due to the belt

give this atry before the weight gets too heavy . tighten the belt 1 or 2 nothces looser than usual and physically push out against the belt with your abs to build up the pressure you need for support instead of relying on belt tightness . i think after a little practice at lower weights you will find it just as effective and much more comfortable .

Do you think that you'll ever learn? Discipline yourself. It's in us all.
