A new hot supp item is insulin mimickers. I used to use ALA w/ my carbs PWO. Now I use SAN Loaded post workout and believe in it. I don't think it's essential, but I think it helps store carbs as glycogen through using insulin more effeciently. Anyone else use any?

In the past I had pretty good success w/ just using glutamine. 15 grams w/ each carb meal pre contest. GOT RATHER expensive. At the time I was getting it free so I thought what the hell, once that stopped I switched to SAN.

What's the consensus?

How much? DO you just use it Post wo or do you use it with larger carb meals too?

500mg PWO, is all I use, the rest of my carb meals are low GI, so no need for it then

That's what I did. I like the Loaded better a little bit. I eat all low gi carb meals other than 45 min pre and 20 min post wo. I was still thinking of dropping 200 mg ALA with a few carb meals per day. What do you all think of that? WORTH it or not?

you are eating a high GI meal pre workout? why would you do that?

taking ala with low gi meals is fine, no harm in that

I wake up at 5:00 AM and eat at 5:15 AM then workout at 6:15 AM. My breakfast is:
2 pieces Whole Wheat Bread (26 carbs)
1 TBSP Honey (17 Carbs)
40 Grams Whey Protein
1 TBSP Nat PB

Is this wrong? Wo'nt the 17 g of simple carbs get in the blood stream a bit quicker at the initial point of my workout? That's what I was shooting for.

I personally would not mix the honey and P butter, your asking for fat gain doing that, try your best to never mix simple carbs and fats. I see no problem with the wheat bread before a workout, but oats would be a better choice, better energy

That is the absolute only time I ever mix fat and simples, but head the advice and change things up! Only goingto make me better. thanks.
