I got this new pc and it has a 16X DVD/RW drive and I cant get the shit to work. I'm trying to burn a typical audio cd on a CDRW disk. It plays on my computer but I cant get the cd to play in a car or anything else. My old computer burned cds just fine when it worked. It was a basic CD-R burner. Am I doing anything wrong?? This shit is pissing me off. Is it the format I'm burning them in? I tried it in .cda and .mp3 format.

what program are you using?

I would think it has to be the format they are being burned in, if you have played burned CDs in your car before, that worked. Not all steroes play MP3 disks but, im assuming you know that already.

I use sonic record now and nero and have no problems.

Is your car CD player MP3 / CD-R compatible?

If you have access to the internet, get azureus, download nero (the latest version) and that program is really easy to use. make sure you are making an AUDIO CD not a DATA disk, just throwin things out here.

Thanks a lot skull!! Well Im using the same software to burn as you do. I have sonic and I also have a demo version of nero which will run out here in a few weeks..lol. My car has played cds before but I think they were just CD-R disk and not CD-RW.

It might be having problems with the RW part. Did you try with just an R and see what happens?

Yea, I was gonna say that.

Yeah you probably are trying to play a cd that's incompatible with that player. Shit I'm going through that now with dvd recorders, one will only record on certain dvds but the dvd wont play on certain dvd players.

Do you use DVDshrink and DVD decrypter together?

Well, if you ever have any problems burning DVDs I suggest you get those because that is what i use and I have never came across a DVD I couldnt burn. You can shrink the size by removing unnecesary files like "french subtitles" etc, and they burn faster. With 2 gigs of ram on my PC I can burn DVDs in 6 minutes, it rules. DVD decrypter eliminates the "protection" on the DVD. What do you use?

You also have the option to set the region for th4e DVD, which Im pretty sure determines what your DVD will play in. Though I m not sure.

Well I'm talking about a dvd recorder, not burning a dvd from a computer.

You're fucked. With the software the skull was talking 'bout you can do almost anything. I have only found 1 movie that I couldn't decrypt and that was Chicken Run for my kids. I just bought the friggen thing for them.

Well you guys were right, it was those damn cds..lol. I guess my car cant play CDRW disk, only CD-R. After going through $40 worth of disk I finally figured it out...lmao. thanks fellas
