I need your input on new equipment Im gettin

Im gettin some new shit to help me lift more safely and comfortably so give me your thoughts on it and lemme know if you know where to get a better/cheaper version of what I have in mind. Im not tryin to spend more than like $120. but I might if I have the dough.

Im lookin for:

1. Belt

2.Knee bands (No mile-long wraps)

3.Squat pad

Squat pads are for pussy's :D save the $35 for more weight plates;)

lol, you need to find the right spot on your back. It shouldn't hurt at all
 
The belt doesn't look like it would be good for heavy lifting. I use a bar pad for squats it's just a pad that slides on nothing expensive.

not only that but that thing places the bar way 2 high on ur back, neck even....no good

take some time with like a 25 on each side or somethin, & just try 2 get the feel of where the bar is most comfortable

if ur serious about a belt, & gona spend that much, y not spend a lil more & get a lockin belt?

& the wraps r nice b/c its always adjustable

the pad is fine....*ill still make fun of ya:)* but with the pad u can still put the bar anywhere u want

& it gives a lil, but if ur goin heavy it doesnt make a diffrence & in my expirence its more annoyin then anythin

alright i cant find it....but ill b honest with ya, ur gona put a ton of pressure on the bottom of ur neck, above ur traps & u just dont want the bar there

theres like a spot on every1 that u can put the bar, & ur fine....some people its a lil higher dependin on ur traps, but just take some time & try 2 find it
 
I think I was born without that.

The bar hurts my shoulders sometimes, and I think its because of my injuries I had there.

Its probly due to my injuries, the pain/discomfort.

its 2 high then....there nothin wrong with puttin the bar low, like LOW....look @ alota power lifters

i just really dont think that thing is gona help u & may even hurt u in the end....i know uve had injuries, i just dont wana c u end up worse bro

& this is comin from some1 that has had a ton of neck probs since i was 18 *im 26 now*....holy sh*t im f*ckin 26 f*ckin years old

i was recomended 2 use that thing b/c of my neck probs, & it put me in a weird position & it was just way 2 high & really was in a bad spot 4 me anyway
 
but if I gotta put the bar lower on my back, that sgonna fuck with my form and eh....I dunno....Ill try it though.

well like i said, put a lil weight on the bar & just try 2 find a good spot....every1 is diffrent....i have the bar low & squat low & wide....some have a diffrent stance & have the bar higher....just tossin out my .02
 
well I bought the manta ray.....ok! I DID IT!!

theres a money back guarentee anyway so hey, f*ck it. Im givin it a try.
 
I had one of those manta ray things - whenever I used it it made both my hands go numb because it dug into my traps so bad (those little flaps in the front). My training partner at the time tried it too - had the same problem. Not like we are very big guys, but maybe it was made for people with slightly smaller frames (we're both 6'1" and have fairly wide shoulders) I've still got it sitting around in a closet somewhere, too bad I didn't see this earlier I could have tried to find it and just mail it to ya.

I'll go look for it man ;) Test it out first, and see if you actually want it though.

EDIT: Can't go look right now, girlfriend is down in my office taking a practice exam for her state boards... I'll look tonight.

PTA I never knew a belt was supposed to be comfortable haha
