If you could only eat one carb source for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

I think I'd have to go with oatmeal. Not the best tasting, but I think, the best bang for your buck :)

Oats but I just bought a rice steamer, going to see if that helps at all.

another vote for oats. Lately i've been eating them with unsweetened applesauce mixed in............damn good

I love oats but how do you eat greater than 70 grams of carbs worth? I struggle cooking them in the microwave when it amounts to this quantity...

I've gotta go with oats. I've started making a breakfast shake with them in it.

1.5 cups of water
2 scoops choc whey
1 tbsp flax oil
2 packets instant oats (not the flavoured stuff)
1 packet sweetener

Blend for 20-30 seconds.

I have the same problem! 1.5cups of raw oats = 6 cups of cooked oats. lol

Okay, maybe 4 cups. I don't like my oats stiff, but I don't liek them runny. Just inbetween those two mediums.

Oatmeal 4 sure, oatmeal fills me out like no other carb does, many time I eat sum post-workout while still pumped, & some days I can literally see my muscles fill out after eating sum...

R U serious?

you put water on stove till it boils then add oats......it should say on side of oats label

yeah...I've never cooked them on the stove ans I didn't know if to boil the water before I added the oats or whether to have the oats in the water while I boiled it.

You could never limit your carb intake to just one. The body get so many unique enzymes and micronutrients from greens, carrots and red dabbage there is little else to supply the same things. Oatmeal would be my immediate choice, but sweet potatoes contain more assimible nutrients than any other vegetable, barring a vine-ripened tomato (home grown), so it would be a tossup here. Oats are more versatile, cheaper and quicker to make, but yams are much, much more nutritious. ;)

I put them in a micro wave for like 1min and done
Old Fashioned oats you cook for 10-15 minutes are much more nutritious. I boil up a big pot full and store it in the fridge in 6 tupperware soup bowls covered with Saran Wrap. I use 1/2 bowl at a sitting. (approx 1 cup cooked oatmeal)

I also like to open a can of tuna, dump in a bowl, add some oats, and some BBQ sauce stir it all up, makes a good quick meal :)
