Fuck Vista. I ditched my old hard drive that was more fucked than an two dollar whore on payday, and loaded vista on a new one. I have my music files on another hard drive. I try to drag and drop them to my new hard drive and it says "you must be an administrator to perform these actions" or some shit like that. The fucked up part is that I AM logged in as an admin. The hard drive is set for file sharing and I have full control to both. But for some reason, dragging and dropping between hard drives is not allowed on vista. I searched the web and found no solution. If you were thinking of upgrading, DONT. Stick with XP.

Fuck you Bill Gates! I am an MCP and a MCDST and soon to be MCSA, and my next computer will be an MAC.

macs are far superior to windows PC's...

the things that are making windows based computers run better mac users have been enjoying for years

the problem is macs are far more expensive than PC's...with mac books starting at 1099$ how can average people legitimize buying them over a laptop from HP for 399$?

HPs are shit. I work on them all the time.

They are worth the money is what I keep hearing. No viruses, no spyware, and they last a lot longer too, you dont need to upgrade all the time.

If you compare the hardware of that 400 dollar hp, it is the shit that apple used 2 years ago. They are selling you bottom of the barrel crap

thats a good point..

a reason PC's are so cheap is because the parts dont last very long and burn out quickly

this is a ploy used to get money back from the people who stoped buying commerical PCs becuase of the ability to get custom made ones for cheaper

I am about to install red hat on here and play around with that as well.

linux is the shit, i wish it was main stream so it was worth a damn

theres stuff running around of people running linux for years with not a problem ever or an ounce of lag

Yeah but how easy is it to use linux? And how many common programs are compatible with linux?

I know your pain. I put vista on my vaio and totally fucked it up. It took most of last weekend to rebuild it with XP. Now it runs fine (but A&E is slow and the messages don't load all the time)!

The heads of the Welding Engineering department here at OSU totally fucked my world up a few weeks ago when they "upgraded" to vista. Now all the computers in the lab have them and it's a total pain in the ass. The computers are always laggy as hell and, as Cruci said, any fucking thing you try to do requires administrator rights. It literally takes 5 minutes to print something now because the computers run so slow that it takes forever to connect to the network printers. Vista can blow me

Part of the problem is that Vista requires new EVERYTHING in order to run. A lot of companies have had to rebuild, re-program, make brand new sets of drivers, etc., in order to be compatible with Vista because users all over were getting error messages for even some of the most basic and standard programs. Most sound cards, graphic cards, etc. were all incompatible with Vista, and the respective companies had to actually make new drivers which took some time to complete.

When SP2 comes out for Vista, it should address a lot of these issues. Of course, not all PCs had this problem but the majority of people were affected. Please be aware that not all new products that come out are great, and Windows Vista received many complaints upon its release. If you remember, Windows XP had a lot of the same issues when it first came out, but those were later resolved once the service packs were rolled out.

Just hang in there, your problem is not really all that uncommon. I'll try to find a solution, then post it IF and when I do find one.

Buy a MAC bro, save yourself the headache. Or at least get a PC with XP

I've never really understood why MACs were so great. I had used them when computers were actually introduced into schools, and I really didn't like them all that much. Seeing as how they've advanced, I've actually been quite curious into buying one myself. I think it would be great buy a MAC, load Windows on it and still keep up with what's going on in the world of Windows, while I learn MAC. :)

I have found that a lot of people are switching to MAC. They do have some amazing programs and software, such as iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Apple TV, etc., not to mention all their systems are built right into the monitor. No seperate tower, just the external mouse and keyboard. :)

Yea, How much are macs?

Check out the Apple site or Apple Store for product information.

I just got a new dell and it came with vista and i love it. I wouldnt go back to xp ever again
