You know, I am against so called wealth distribution that Obama plans to implement. But aren't we doing that now? We just distributed 700 BILLION dollars of OUR tax money to the rich corporate executives that can't run their own companies. So wouldn't you agree that both parties have similar agendas? It is socialism either way, if you really look at it. Republicans redistribute wealth to the rich, Democrats to the poor.

True Capitalism involves the government staying the hell out of business.

Ayn Rand said:
Government "help" to business is just as disastrous as government persecution... the only way a government can be of service to national prosperity is by keeping its hands off.

What is your opinion?

Another good one from my favorite founding father

Thomas Jefferson said:
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

Damn I love this guy

Thomas Jefferson said:
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

I agree with Cruci, this "bailout" is such a waste. Do you really think if the those banks and insurance companies went under that there would be no other banks to come and take there place? Gimme a break, that's what a free market does. There would be several banks willing to step in and take their place. Now my hard earned money is being used to save companies that raped and pilliged the American people with no thought of the consequences. Let'm fold is what I say.

BTW- Good to see you here again Cruci. :)

Thanks brother :)

agreed. this bailout is the biggest bunch of horse sheet ive ever seen. Our entire country is based on checks and balances. Industries and companies that fail need to be left fail and reset. its the only thing thats going to fix this problem. this bailout is just a scab thats going to be picked off by more mistakes catching up with these businesses in time.

Its not our fault these people were tossed into mortgages and loans they couldnt afford. and in a big part by groups like ACORN to urge those recieving these loans and such to vote democrat. why should our sweat pay for others mistakes? most of these idiots knew they were getting into something they more than likely couldnt pay when they signed the papers!!

this is no different than the government taking all of us healthy citizens and saying were taking part of your liver or a kidney and giving it to your neighbor bc he didnt take care of his, and theres nothing you can do about it.

I say to hell with the government...thats y im seriously debating not to even file my tax return this year...

McCain seems to be gearing it towards the ideology of the Federal Housing Administration which was created in '34 due to the Great Depression situation. Then you had the VA also. Then there was the creation of the Farmers Home Administration in '46 which my father worked for his entire career. Then you have HUD.

If these had been FHA insured loans to start with, the situation would still be the same. If the loan was defaulted, the government made it good anyway through approved lenders.

The problem lies with greedy lenders and like was stated, ACORN and the "me first" gimme everything because I deserve and don't want to work hard for it attitude. I can't imagine what the housing situation in the U.S. for the majority would be like if we hadn't had those federal programs in place. It would be nice if the gov't never had a finger in any private corporation, however look at where we wound up without tighter regulatory controls.

In my mind Obama will go way too far with socialistic programs. His tax plan seems to reward laziness and discourage the free enterprise system.

The climb in our standard of living has maybe reached its peak. With an Obama presidency most likely for eight years, I predict a decline in the standard of living.
Maybe that's what we need. The "me now" instant gratification generations will get a big wake up call.

After McCain starts another war for Israel (Iran) we will be more fucked than anything Obama could do. JMHO
