Do any of you guys work off-shore, or know someone that does so that you would have first hand knowledge about it? I'm wanting to know specially while you are on for 14 days can you work 12 hours a day, or are you limited to 8 hrs. Pros, cons that sort of thing and being without Mcdonald's or an evening bar aren't cons to me. I guess I want to know more about benefits and such.

Thanks for any info!

Scotsmark might help u, but i think he is in Ireland or United kingdom

i have an offshore drilling rig when i go on a boat with ripped's mom...

depends on the contract and salary based vs hourly wage..

my dad workd for Halliburton as a cement contractor...he worked off and on shore....

he said he worked damn there 6 days per week 12 hrs a day but got paid for it...

To my knowledge its a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off kinda thing around here.....Im not sure the amount of hours you put in a day, but I do know its hourly and you can make a good amount of money doing it....its something i would consider if i did not have the younguns...

Totally understand that. I'm a part time dad. By that I mean I get my kids every other weekend (which sucks). I hearing a few cons, but mostly pros about it. I hear it's hard work, but the pay is good and the hours are at least 12 a day which is great. Being salary ain't cuttin it this day and time.......

from hearing from my step dad....the days on was paid for extended time vs days off...but that may have changed to todays standards...but overall the pay is good....

my friend works offshore on oil rigs
makes round 160 thousand us dollars a year not including bonus and extra time....but they keep on switching him round sometimes offshore sometimes not ....
last he was in Oman on an oil rig for 17 days ...12 hours work ....
