Put new Metzler Lasertec tires on my BMW motorcycle last June.
Went for a long ride with some buddies yesterday and at a stop noticed there were cracks running all around the side-walls of both tires.
I am livid. The tires only have 2400 miles on them.
This seems to be a common problem with Metzler's made in Brazil.
F*ing jungle rush!
Metzlers never again!

Get some pirellis. Diablo Corsas. Youll never go back...pilot powers are damn good too.

I only Dunlop's on my racebike. On street I would check out the new Bridgestone BT-016, have heard and read good things about them.

The dealer said he would warrant them, sweet!
I asked if he would give me credit to get two Dunlops instead. Still in the works...

the bias ply mettzlers are brazilian but the radials are still german [ or so ive been told ]
the bias ply tires have a BAD rep , their quality control must suck.

pirelli makes the best tires everyone knows that lol

But doesn't Pirelli own Metzler?

Yes, Pirelli owns Metzler. Mrhtbd, I've worked at a motorcycle dealership for 15 years now and everyone has a horror story regarding one brand or another. What are your tire sizes on your bike? I know a lot of goldwing guys run Metzlers and love them, sportbike guys go for Dunlop, Pirelli, or Michelin. Now while Dunlop makes a great D.O.T. race tire, I think there street tires are crap. A great sport tire for the street is Michelin. Good luck and I'm sure the dealer will do the right thing and warranty them.

the goldwing guys love the metzlers because they are running radial / german metzlers

The dunlops feel slippery, but they're not broken in yet. Either way, skipped my Sunday morning ride.

I finally got the shits of the Dunlops, figured life was worth being alive for.
I canned them (with only 1000 miles, still great tread).
I put on two Avon, Road Riders.
On the way home it downpoared the whole way.
I had a 45 mile ride to get home. Wife followed in the car with the kids.
Scary because of riding on new tires but they held like champs, didn't slip once. I love 'em! Also, the bike followed a line straight, not wavering all over the road with the Dunlops.
Anybody want to buy some Dunlops?
I'll throw in the tubes! Hmmm?

Don't talk trash about dunlops, there Ntec slicks race tire, which I use is the best available to us. Oh, as for the street, your right they are far behind the competition especially for cruisers..:D
