son's mother has cancer

Yeah, heard this yesterday from my son. He is 12 and lives with his mom and sister. Mom is 50 and has lung cancer.
Starts chemo today.
I told my son to spend as much time as possible with her.
Eventually he will come live with me and his 2 sisters.
My wife will simply have to adjust.
I guess we'll all have to do some adjusting...

Yes, one of the reasons I couldn't stay with her, but as late, we have been getting along quite fine.
She also raised a daughter with spina bifida.
She is now 17, much older than anyone thought she would live.

Lung cancer can in many cases be cured these days. Although it's still one of the more difficult to treat depending on rather it's small cell or not.

Small tumor upper left lobe. She is positive and feels she is in great care.

I have 3 people close to me with cancer. One just passed yesterday. I spent everyday for 6 years in close quarters with him talking life and such. I will be attending the funeral tommorow. The other is my drinking buddy and close friend who has a rare form of cancer 1 in 500000 have. Cancer is everywhere, What you can do is suport your cancer help organizations and donate time and money......

Sorry to hear that man, I am afraid that day is coming sooner or later for my mother... I have tried to get her to stop smoking but good lord do they explode when you even bring it up.. I really do not understand it.

At one point you feel bad because you know how bad it is but then again there are so many ways to quit now adays that I don't feel bad.. Smokers have this thing where they think they should be able to smoke where ever when ever they please.
