Pacquiao vs Cotto tonight...

I just want to see a great fight, toss up imo but leaning towards pac
 
Been watching boxing a long time...and I gotta say...Pac is the best fighter I have ever seen. He just demolished Cotto...knocked him down 2 times early. He took Cotto's best shots flush and didnt flinch. He beat Cotto up...and keep in mind this is a guy that started out fighting at a flyweight...beating up one of the hardest punchers in the welterweight division good Lord!lol This fight is the only fight I ever seen Cotto RUN...he was on his "Ali bicycle" by rd 6. Several times Pac actually had to stop dead in the ring and gesture like "you gonna fight or what?".lol He won TKO rd 12, but they could have stopped the fight 3 rds earlier as Cotto was taking a beating. Mayweather don't want no part of this kid.

I think one of the most amazing things he proved in that fight is his ability to take a shot...rds 1 thru 3 he took Cotto's famously-known-punishing left-hook FLUSH on the chin several times and didnt budge. For a guy that was once a flyweight, thats fucking crazy shit! :eek:

Now of course some nostalgic guy will always come here and try to argue this. But show me a better resume than this!

Pac never fought Mosley and a lot of people think he lost both fights with Marquez. He is definitely great but I still think that Mosley KO's him within 8.

Cotto is damaged goods since the loaded wraps beating he took from Margarito, plus he had to shrink down 2lbs to 145 for this fight. Cotto also 'ran' or backpeddled as you put it against Marg until he gassed.

I don't think PBF will fight Pac, word is he will fight Salita (WTF??) if he wins a strap from Amir Khan. That would be GAY!!!

Mosley's defense is terrible...as many times as Cotto could hit him, imagine how much more the faster Pac would hit him...he would destroy Shane IMO.

Marquez...he was that one fighter that had the style that gave Pac trouble, ie, Vernon Forrest for Shane, Norton for Ali, etc.

Cotto...he was in the best shape of his life, and hungrier than ever to make a statement. He hydrated back up by fight time around 155, not making the same mistake Oscar did. Damaged goods no way. He RAN from Pac...he merely wasn't the aggressor against Marg...big difference.

One last variable not talked about much...Freddy Roach. IMO dudes a genius...he has a knack for finding the vulnerabilties in the competition and tailoring Pac to exploit them. He'll do the same with Shane or Floyd.

LOL, I seriously look back and have no fucking idea why I put Mosley in there, lol.

Cotto couldn't hurt Margarito, he threw everything at him and Margarito took it. The handwraps simply caused more damage, but either way Cotto would have lost that fight as Margarito was just a wall closing in on him. I don't think Cotto is damaged goods, Pac just exploited him, found openings in his shell like defense. And countered him very well, hell who would have ever fucking thought Manny could play dope a rope with Cotto???? lol.



He will fight Mayweather, and Mayweather will lose that fight on points, because I highly doubt he will give 100% and lose on points for lack of agression, he's gonna be very gun shy vs Pac. Hell he's gun shy against much less hard hitting fighters. It's going to be one of those DLH VS Trinidad fights, where the more talented and better fighter gives up the fight. That's my opinion!

Cotto has always had an average chin, rewatch his fights with Corley and Torres. I also thought that Shane beat Cotto, and if he had one more round would have KO'd him. Cotto was basically out on his feet in the last round that fight.

Anyway I never thought Pac would handle Cotto like that, the second knockdown was badassed. I thought that stoppage was bullshit though, Cotto should have been allowed to go all 12 imo. If it was stopped in the 9th I wouldn't have complained, but that last fury didn't even land flush at all.

Pac vs PBF I hope happens, not sure who wins that one but PBF would have to be favored.

The reason I think they stopped it in the last round is because the commisioner heard Cottos corner asking him to quit. They told the ref this and told him to keep an eye on him as his corner thinks he's hurt. That sometimes puts more pressure on the ref. to stop the fight ASAP. You could have seen it in the refs body language he was just itching to stop it in the last round.


I will never say Pac. wont do something to someone, who the hell thought he would do that to DLH, Hatton, Morales, and now Cotto??? I know what you are saying about Torres, but that guy is a very strong fighter, he has something like a 95% KO ratio. So even though he lacks talent he packs a whooping punch.

Floyd still, even more so then before now
Notice how they mentioned throughout the night cotto had landed so much more frequently then anyone. And cotto is an extremely economical fighter.

I believe so by seeing that floyd will be able to tea off on him, pacs speed may have been to much for cotto but it surly wouldnt be to much for floyd

Well I think its a match...pretty boy floyd called him out..guess I was wrong..that's gonna be a hell of a match papi's
