I am a science teacher: Physical Science, Biology, and Earth Science.
I am a fifth-generation American on my father's side, and a seventh-generation American on my mother's father's side.
So, basically I have been here awhile and know the lay of the land.
In addition, I form my political opinions based on the scientific method, i.e., I collect and analyse data, use logic, awareness of human nature, and common sense.
I am currently in my 15th year as a full time college student with two Master Degree's.
Before that I was in the military for 17 years. My last 6 years were as a jet engine mechanic, so other than being an intellectual, I know how to build things, dissect, and reassemble components.
Glenn Beck and the like are showman. It's entertainment designed to sell advertising. Only a fool would see their shows as somehow real or relevent, although, they do offer the contrary viewpoint, which is useful in order to avoid the continually subjective propaganda and manipulation pomulgated by liberal's through every conceivable type of media.
This site is entertainment for most of the older lifters, as most of us have been lifting longer than, I would imagine, you have been alive; myself for 30 years. Some years of which I have been in great shape and others not so great, but still involved to a degree. We enjoy helping when we can, but sometimes we joke around because we are bored. Sometimes this get's out of hand, just like in most other families. It either works itself out or not, time will tell.
You have 88 posts so I wouldn't imagine you have a sense for the site yet, as, recently, it has been comprised mostly of bickering due to misunderstandings, long-term unresolved irritations, and slants.
One thing I don't need, though, is someone pushing a "Liberal, Green" thread down my throat. I am a home-owner who pays a small fortune just to keep my internal house temperature at 66 degrees. It is, and is going to be another cold winter. The energy companies stand to benefit hand-over-fist, as well as their so-called "Green Concerned Political Allies in Washington" proportedly out to "Save the Planet." How pretentious!
The earth has been around over 4 billion years and man will destroy it in a few hundred. Ridiculous! Spare us the litiny.
Please list your stats and latest workout and we will go from there, and don't forget to list if you use a workout armband, heartrate monitor, lifting gloves, and/or weight belt. Thank you for your contribution.
By the way, Al Gore is not a moron, he is a sly businessman who stands to rake in hundreds of millions if his green agenda goes through Congress. I would prefer his contribution to the planet was in sweat equity out planting tree's, but I bet he only has one callous on his whole body, right smack on his ass, because he's just another all talk no action bullshitter, and his main contact with the Earth is sitting on it!
