Which Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Medication Works Best: Viagra, Cialis or Levitra?
At some point, as many as 30 million American men have all asked themselves the same question: Which erectile dysfunction (ED) medication works best?
Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are all PDE-5 inhibitors. This means that, despite having different chemical compositions, they all work the same way to increase blood flow to the penis. It is important to realize that Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are the only three safe, proven, FDA-approved ED medications. There are no U.S. generics available for these drugs until March, 2012.
In May of 2009, study results were released for more than 10,000 men who took part in one of 30 trials that measured the effectiveness of, and side effects of, sildenafil (Viagra), vardenafil (Levitra), and tadalafil (Cialis). Drum roll please?
The results ?were inconclusive as to which medication worked best.? And, ?there were no significant differences in side effects associated with Viagra, Levitra or Cialis.?
Sorry we couldn?t be of more help fellas, but here is some useful information: Cialis is the only ED medication that works for up to 36 hours. Viagra and Levitra work for only 4 or 5 hours. Also, the most common short-term side effects in men taking PDE-5 inhibitors were headache, flushing, abdominal pain, and runny nose. Not too bad considering the benefits of these medications.
The truth of the matter is, you won?t know which of the three ED medications works best for you unless you try all three of them ? which is entirely possible if you speak with your doctor. Of course, if you experience great success with one of the medications, there may be no reason to try another.
One U.S.-licensed doctor who fills online prescriptions for the website Edrugstore.md said that, based on his interactions with patients who have taken all three ED medications, some patients who take Cialis say it?s not as potent (does not work as well) as Viagra or Levitra. This may be the trade-off for the fact Cialis is the ?Weekend Pill? that can last two nights
