anybody ever experience this...

I've been on a keto diet and in ketosis for weeks..since January 24th...I probably lost a quick 5-10 but I'm stuck

for the last three weeks I havent lost a pound..actually gained 1..its the damnedest thing..I am strict and below 5gms of carbs a day..I test for ketones twice a day and am positive both times.

I've done keto before..and normally im dropping weight regularly..not this time...I'm thinking of adding carbs back in post workout..

wondering if I have adrenal fatigue or something...

any ideas?

Lion,Ive never heard of that. Sounds like something is haywire. If you are only taking in 5gms a day you should be dropping. I would go get cheked out.

Without Carbs BikerTrash would be a turd.
The ol lady did the keto diet thing for a bit but she would alternate it like 3 weeks low to no carbs then 3 days with moderate carbs then another 3 weeks keto no carb.
Worked good for her.

I'm in about week 6 of my keto diet and the same thing is happening. The last time I did this I would level out for a while then drop 2-3lbs quick. It has been about a week with no drop. I'm not giving up yet.

I take in 20-25g of carbs pre-work and then keep it very low the rest of the time.

I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue about 4 years ago and started taking hydrocortisone. I have been tapering my dose and still feel good so I think I've about got it beat.

Good luck and remember it is still calories in versus calories out. Ketosis just shifts you toward burning more fat then carbs and protecting muscle.

Helpful...thank you!

I'm going to kick up the cardio and add carbs only around my work outs..

I've got a blood draw tomorrow so I'll see what info that give me...

my wife runs a keto diet every year and after about 4 weeks it stalls and then it kicks back in

That happened to me with this run. I stalled at week 4 and didn't lose anything for a week. Between weeks 5 and 6 I lost 3lbs.

1st time I did it it worked pretty well. Next time I did it it was like you. I do better with a little bit of clean carbs in there and then manipulating carbs and fat up and down to drop fat. I think my problem with keto was 2 fold. To high fat sometimes and other was going down far enough in cals. Also refeeds are critical to keep metabolism up.

Pretty much what I do in regard to carbs, low fat always works best for me when cutting though.

are you having your re-feed aka cheat meal weekly??

I , personally dont like Keto. It makes flat and small but i do lose fat. I rahter cycle my carbs

Couple things. First you still need to run a calorie deficit. Second you can slow your metabolism if you stay keto too long. Adding in a cheat meal once a week can keep it kicked up. Personally, I think you are better off cycling in and out of ketosis.
