Platz said he tried training like Arnie for 3 weeks - double split, 6x per week - and it messed him all up...

Now this is just my take, and I've thought about this often before. I believe Arnold was SEVERELY overtrained. Most people talk about his one of a kind recovery abilities blah blah blah, but I believe had he hit it less frequently, he would have been even better. I mean, think about it - his pre-contest training on mon/wed/fri he would hit chest AND back in the morning, THEN come back and hit legs at night. Thats just insane! Then on tues/thurs/sat he would hit shoulders & arms in the morning, and come back and hit abs & calves at night. Most back then had the reasoning of "well it MUST work, look at him". Keep in mind he was doing that shit on a fraction of the gear that pros use today (hell, many board members also for that matter). Also no gh, slin or peptides to help aid recovery. Not to mention he stayed busy as a business man, with his real estate, and even going to college at one point. Most think all he did was workout and lay on the beach, but he was always busy for the most part. Unbelievable how he juggled all that shit dayum!

Fascinating story. Arnold will alweays be my very favorite. One word...charisma!

Have not read it yet but Arnold is a good model of success. He talks a lot about the mind, determination and goals. He may have been a dick to some but he got shit done and accomplished a lot. Plus he is not done yet.
