So I was bored with my yard one day....

And I decided to do this. Had to re-do the house and the entire yard anyway, so I said what the hell I'll put a gym out back. My friends think I'm nuts. Maybe... Did the biggest building I could get away with. 2 floors, although the upstairs is the woman's playground. It was originally just gonna be 1 floor, but then she wanted some space of her own(I know women right?), So I exchanged some lumber, and gave her her own floor. Gotta get a bigger dumbbell rack, but I can do everything I need to do here. I cannot stress, how extremely convenient and useful this is. Best money I ever spent.

Man that's kick ass. I know with all the hours you work, that really makes things more convenient & do-able. When you get a chance, post up all the equipment you have there - I can see most of it, but hell might as well give us an itemized report since you put the all that work in. :)

Nice work there brother. Someone I know turned an old mobile home into a badass gym.

Thanks guys. It's great, it's always there and it's ALWAYS open, which is huge. I'll be out there at 10 some nights.

Power rack, with pull-up bar, pulldown, and row, dip bars. I love this thing. I had another one but this had all the bells and whistles so in the name of the cause I had to have it. I can do so many exercises on this, this could be considered it's own gym.

Ivanko Pro dumbbells up to 80lb pair. Currently in the process of getting 85-130.

KO Fightgear 150lb muay thai bag

Title hook and uppercut wall mount.

Elliptical

Back rowing machine

Bowflex( use with supersets, and burnouts)

Vertical Leg press. Nothing like the 45 degree leg press.

Preacher curl bench

Leg curl/extension bench

Adjustable bench

Plenty of bars and handles

Plenty of weights, I think like 700 lbs, I have more in the garage. The big ones are 75lbs each

Pellet stove for heat.

I would like to do something like that but I have used up all the room I have in my yard already with other things. I thought about buying the house next door to mine and gutting it so it is just an open floor plan and making a gym out of it for just my personal use but it isn't for sale anymore. It would have been cool though!!!

Thanks

That would be pretty awesome. I saw one where a guy put a gym in one of those metal garage building's. It was pretty badass. If I had more land, I probably would've gone that route. Also I've always liked the open gyms, that are pretty much on a slab of concrete, with a roof over it, except it would never work in the winter where I am.

I would have kept the heat and water in the house and all that and just rip out the front rooms and have the open floor plan and put in some basic equipment and machines. They wanted too much for the house at the time and I thought it would have stayed on the market longer so I could have offered much less and got it but someone either bought it or is renting it now. It would have been convenient too because I would just seal off the front of the house and put the entrance on the side so I could just walk out my side door and in a few steps be in the gym, rain or shine snow or hot wouldn't be a problem.

Thanks
TMM

Very nice. I work out mostly in my back yard but between mosquitoes and rain and the heat then the cold it gets rough sometimes.

I bet! perhaps you should get a shed too so you can workout in peace without the bugs bugging you.
