I personally like to strength train fasted with the exception of a preworkout stimulant drink. Only water during training.
 
I have a fair amount of protein about 1.5 hours before I train. I drink a mountain dew sunrise caffeinated drink during my workout. Then have a good meal 1-2 hours post workout.
 
I take a post-w.o drink to the gym which consists of 50g whey and 28g carbs from Gatorade. However I usually start sipping on it about 3/4th's of the way thru the workout. For the most part, I drink water during training.
 
I have two ways.

Bulk, I usually have a protein shake before I leave for the gym and a couple bananas on the drive.

When I get there, weather I use slin or not (not here recently) I have an intra shake of protein and carbs. I still have it without slin because I figure if the best time to blast our muscles with protein and carbs are during the workout with slin, I don't see why it wouldn't still be a great time to have the protein and carbs without it.

The carbs from the shake and bananas boost natty slin as well during training. Obviously not like an injection before hand.

Cutting I don't run more than 30 - 35 carbs a day. I do a protein shake just before I leave and drink another one during the workout.

Cut or bulk I usually drink lots of water during training and eat a solid meal an hour to an hour and a half after training.
 
I tend to train rather fasted but drink water throughout. If I feel lightheaded when the ol' blood sugar drops too low I'll drink a Gatorade.
 
Fellow gym goer here. I guess I do things differently than others here. Interesting really! I drink just water during my workout. I’ll take some glucose tabs if needed with insulin. I always eat a bowl of cereal about an hour before my workout. I can’t workout with a bloated full stomach. I get sick. Recently I started taking a B12 gummy with my cereal/breakfast which helps me from feeling nauseous after my strenuous 30-45 min workout. Lol. Now after my workout I drink 20-25 grams of whey protein and Ignition(carb made by 1stPhorm) immediately after my workout. And then again (other half pre made) about 30 min later. Easier on stomach that way. I had always been taught you should get your protein in within an hour of your workout and that’s what I’ve always done.
