OK i just had a hernia surger and i can start lifting again at the beginning of the year. Now i've been eating like a normal person, no specific diet, not certain amounts of anything. But i do know i've been eating a lot less calories than i did. And i have lost definition, but. My question is, Should i go for a bulk up right now, or should i do a cutting diet. Cuz either way i'll prolly be eating more healthy calories than i was.

I'm talking about when i start lifting again. Will i make big gains if i eat big and try to gain weight??

What up Kflip484,

I am no expert, nor have I ever had hernia surgery... so consider the source. :D

If it were me, I would eat clean and at maintenance level... of course, the 1g of protein per lb. body weight but at a maintenance level as far as your caloric needs.

Personally, I would want to have my weight stable somewhere in between a bulking or cutting while being unable to lift. This way you can jump into either bulking or cutting depending on what you prefer when lifting time comes.

Good luck! :iggthumpu
I wish you a quick recovery.
