I will be 45, been in construction all my life, started and failed at a few businesses. I still don't know what I want to do for a living.lol.

My kids dread going to school and my oldest dreads going to work but lives at home. I tell them that we are all in the same boat but to try to get a career that they can be happy with. In a few minutes I will be getting ready to spend the day in the bitter cold. I know one of the cat machines will break down or not start, besides I have to service some today.

I should have been a doctor,,lol

My kids are grown and gone. Been at tjis job 15 years and hate it. But I make too much money to quit.

I have 1 at home thats a senior. I've been in machine repair since leaving the military. Enjoy fabbing machines but don't enjoy the ass kissing or politics. I would love to get into something else but don't have the balls to pull the trigger.

i got 3 kids at home and 2 grown.i have always taught my kids construction and logging which is what i do.as they see how beat up i am and the weather and shitty jobs i get into i tell them this is why u go to college or the military so u dont have to destroy yourself.granted i sub my construction jobs now so i dont hate it as much as i used to.as for the logging and firewood that my bread and butter i love the cutting and dropping and now that i have a backhoe ilike it alot more.tore my acl and had it replaced and my mind def focusing on getting some rentals going so that i can do whatever makes me happy instead of what is necessary to pay bills.i guess i dont look at it as if am i happy with what i am doing right now its more like doing what i have to right now to get to where i can do what i want daily.

I've been in the military for the past 11yrs and some days I love it and some days I hate it. I love doing what I do, love leading Soldiers and knowing mu friends and family are safe on my watch. Howe I can't stand those who abuse their powers or leaders who were promoted quickly through the ranks due to the war and needed more numbers and now the wars are dwindling down they absolutely have zero ability to be a leader but selfishly take.

I Like my job. If you knew what it was you would laugh your ass off. But...it does have constraints that make me bristle.

Had a wonderful start in electronic work until became disillusioned with the impersonal attitude of big companies. Had own business for couple of decades with up to 25 employees at peak. Decided was not worth stress. Last 20 years have been working as large vehicle tec. Not much money but good benefits and LOVE MY JOB no stress immune to office politics. And not interested in proving any thing. If something gives me trouble a large hammer is good therapy and no one questions why it was necessary. So much more fun than dealing with people. Now that Iv got the problem with my aging metabolism under control I expect to be working past retirement age.
Which I would not have thought a couple years ago.

I'm in construction myself nd for the most part I do like it. I love to build things and get such a rush when a project is done.. But what I do hate about it is the down time

I have worked in industrial maintenance for a little over a decade now and at times I thought about changing career but it seems like when I felt like I had went as far as I could and wanted a new challenge another door would open. The money's pretty good and there's always a new project and the constant change keeps me interested. A few months ago I finished a few college classes to earn my degree and now I work for the engineering department doing research and development with new projects in a very large sports industry. The time and hard work over the years have finally lead up to the closest thing to my dream job possible ATM. I travel a little now in Europe where the corporate headquarters is located and I enjoy that but the most important thing is most of the time I'm home every night with my family and enjoy what I do.

I love about 30% of my job. The other 70% I tolerate for the 30% I love.

My job is boring as hell.Sell truck loads, and train cars of fruit and veggies.Like the selling part, could live without all the problems, and bickering over prices.Just a middle man,get it from both sides.

Dont hate my job just what I do for a living but I have the golden handcuffs so I have another 15 here on top of the 15 I have put in.

I worked in the paper manufacturing business for 20 years and enjoyed it for the most part. The mill I worked at shut down and instead of relocating I took a severance and left. The next day I found a job selling cars and freakin love it... And I think I'm really good at it.. You are dealing with the rain, the snow, the heat, and assholes that just wanna be butt heads but I still enjoy it.. Been at it now for 5 years.. If I could do anything it would be physical therapy but school isn't a option for me at this point.. I would also love to own my own gym at the beach...

I always wanted to be a male stripper ....but my small penor keeps me from doing it ..
So to answer the question I hate my job and most the folks I deal with daily but the pay is extremely good and it supports me and my family so reality says be thankful I have a job and suck it up and deal with it .

Preach it bruddah!

My wife tells me thank you for what I do. I mean look, 99.9% of us are not happy with our jobs/careers. But It puts food on the table. I will be leaving for work in a little while. What I do have is a good crew at work and have a lot of laughs and makes the day go buy. The owners are great, but when my job is done, the layoff check comes and then its behind the 8ball again.

I absolutely hated the jobs I had when I moved from the mid west to the south west. I got into Gold Brokering when I moved and after selling 10 145k bars of solid gold the company I worked for cut commissions (roughly 60k worth) and told me they wanted to pay for a "stay cation" since I was new here... I gave them my two notice that day with my fat middle fingers. I was number one the company nation wide for percentage buys and sales and volume buys and sales. Bounced from a couple jobs then decided that I would start a variation of my business down here that I sold in the mid west and absolutely love it now. Yes it labor (ish) and the summers here suck major balls but I make my own schedule, I meet tons of people and make great contacts so I cant really complain. If I had to pick another job I would probably get into vehicle sales or more specialty sales of vehicles. I'm somewhat a car fanatic so it works haha.

I'm probably spoiled in that I'm the luckiest man on earth but sometimes fell unsatisfied. I make good money and roam the earth as I please for the most part. I get bored easily though, even though most would find it interesting work. I did work very very hard to get to where I am today and tried to do the right thing as much as possible and keep commitments.

I'm into specialty design/build construction management. I've engineered, sold, and project managed this business. What I love most is being the architect of The Deal! I still get to do that in my current role to an extent. Some days I wear a suit, some days I sit in the job trailer in jeans unshaven with a big chew in. Some days I wear my superman underwear and shake shit up. Some days I work 18 hours. Other days I may sleep til 9 am and train around 11am :)

I'm blessed.
