ive been acting like and idiot in the gym lately---not to other members but with my lifting

i have a friend and he may or may not be on this site from time to time and it has become a contest to see who can lift the most so i have been acting like a kid trying to best him in the gym--he tells me he does 365 for 6 so i go and do 405 for 3---keep in mind im older a lot closer to 40 then 30---so i have to surrender--he wins

and last night my shoulders were so freaking sore i had a hard time using them at work

Yes my friend this is why I am alking around the world like a troll. I was pulling 600+ last summer on tren to keep up with the big boys, and for the last six months I dont know if I need crutches or a wheel chair.

Yeah Sir I've learned my lesson showing off a long time ago. However I still do it from time to time but pay for it for weeks. Shoulders are now completely shot, But thank the Dear Lord the wife just started a job and I now have insurance and hope to get them checked out soon as the insurance cards get here and hope it's not much.. Getting ready to try some alflutop to see if it helps...

I have a nut job buddy like that at the gym too. It's not really the weight we compete on but how fast and how much pain is endured. WTF is wrong with me? My right shoulder is useless today. I couldn't jerk off with that arm today.

i learned my lesson long time ago when i tore a hip flexor lol.... now i dont worry about other people just myself but i still train heavy cuz thats the way i like it i just know what i can do not doing weight to try and beat some1

same thing, i go for it all on bench day every damm week, cant help it. then for two days or so i cant button my pants or put on gloves at work. or pull open the door to the shithouse, same reason i moved shoulders farther apart from chest day...

whats goin on ozzy? Can?t hang with the young bucks? i know what your goin through. Probably have some arthritis going on. A lot of guys don?t do enough rotator cuff exercises and don?t warm up or stretch the shoulders enough. We think we?re still 20, come into the gym swing your arms around a few times and jump right into it. There?s a lot going on with those joints, they?re one of only two joints that are ball and socket. So that means a few things, two of which are? one, surgery sucks you realize just how much you use your shoulders when you?re rehabbing and two, they are easy to over work. If you?re working your bench a couple times a week and then doing a separate shoulder workout that?s a lot work for the shoulders but it might not seem too bad because your spreading it out and not thinking about it. Anyways I?m no dr you know that but I?ve had both the shoulders worked on left rotator and the right one to get rid of the arthritis that formed and shave bone off to try and keep it from happening again? yea its back. Anyways point is once they showed me all the exercises to do for my cuff I started noticing they help a ton. I should have been doing those ten years before those surgeries. Wall climbing and internal/external rotator exercises are good ones I do. I spend 15-20 minutes maybe more warming up my shoulders before a good bench workout or hard shoulder day.

Gets me too. I will say that its not even a partner, but my own mentality. I will go to the gym dead set on doing a light/high rep day. Just to get blood moving, get some circulation and stimulation, only to end up going all out and feeling the ole shoulders (which each one already have issues) for the next week
