Bent Over Rows
Purpose of Exercise: To add mass to the upper back. This exercise also stresses and thickens the lower back.
Execution of Exercise: Place an appropriately weighted barbell on a bench or squat rack. With a narrow foot stance, grasp the bar with a wide, overhand grip.Bend forward until your torso is roughly parallel to the floor. Ensure to keep your back straight and look up. Let the bar hang at arms length and pull up until it touches your upper abdominals. Lower under control and repeat.
Important Points: Always remember to keep your back tight and look up. Focus on isolating your back and not relying on your arms to pull the weight up. By the way - The Author's form on this exercise is absolutely terrible, YOU MUST lean further forward and pull the bar up higher.
