Cardio duration

Just wondering how long you think that a cardio session should be. I always thought that it was 20 min for HIIT and 30 min for "regular" cardio but a friend of mine said that 30 min is too much :unno:
 
I have always heard you don't hit the fat burning level until about 15 minutes into cardio. It has to very depending on what you ate before doing it.

I do 20-25 minutes after lifting and 30 minutes if I don't lift.
 
It's an individual thing at best. However, popular consensus is 20-30mins and moderate intensity. As I have gotten older, I have to eat less and trudge the "road to nowhere" a min of an hour everyday to keep the abs visible anymore.

Millibean, I'm going to lean toward what Mondo said. I bet you see the general consensus saying 20-30 minutes if fine but it's going to be a little different for everyone....
Like the guy I'm training right now he's sitting around 290#and probably 30 to 35% BF and he needs to do the hell out of some Hiit for at least 45 min to 1 hr in my opinion. .

I think 30 minutes are enough. I also do 30 minutes cardio daily. Cardio is good foreveryone so i think 30 minutes are enough for everyone.
 
I always liked cycling cardio, meaning, I go hard for 15 seconds out of every minute, and cruise the other 45 seconds. Try it.
I do this for 15 minutes on the rowing machine and am heaving for air blasting my hit sets at 1000 to 1400RPM's.
Works great on the bicycle, too.
