I'm thinking of changing gyms. I haven't really been to the gym I have been going to for the past 5 years or so in a while. I'm just burnt out on the place, the staff, and I dread going there, whereas I used to be excited about getting to the gym. It's really nobody's fault. I don't mind the stares, I get them where ever I go, or even people gawking as I lift, you get used to it when you do what I do. I just feel like I need a change of scenery.
Is it just me or do you guys ever feel like you need a change of environment to move to the next level?:rive:

my girlfriend is training with me now and since i've moved to her city i had to change...the chain we're at now used to be gold's and bought all their equipment...great rate...for our membership together with unlimited tanning it's only $44/month for us total and it's still a serious gym and people are friendly and there to train and not social hour...even the chics are intense for the most part

It's just you Buff. You're sensitive. It's your age. You're going through the change, hot flashes, crying for no reason, stuff that that happens until the last egg drops.

I got burnt out on several gyms in the area. On a whim I tried the University about eight years ago, been there every sense.

My last dnc scraped all the remnant of my eggs away.:thefinger

I really like the dungeon gym I go to ,its in the basement of a huge apartment complex and the equipment is very nice but yet worn
I do miss the old golds gym I used to go to but it went under and some new company bought it and made it a foo foo lounge gym for the pansy lifters .
A change a pace is nice indeed and differnet scenery always makes one work harder.

DEfinitely switch it up. Probably nobody you click with at that place. You need to stumble into a gym with some old school guys and some that can at least hit bench for mid 400s. People just staring is just bull shit. I think you need to find a gym with a couple more old apes.

Well, I looked around. Found a really good hard core gym but it was just too far away, and since I started taking courses two weeks ago to get my bachelors degree I just don't have the extra time i used to. I settled on a gold's gym that is sort of on the way home from work. I went to a golds last year in gainesville when I had a big job there and it wasn't too bad.
The kid that signed me up was a very nice and wanted to try to train with me. So we set up a leg training session for Thursday. He's maybe 180lbs, and ripped. I figure if nothing else he can put the weight on the bar and take it off. If I want to get mean I'll do leg presses with about 1260 on there just to break his will (that's like 14 plates per side for the uninitiated). But I like the kids attitude.
I do not really need a personal trainer since the way I have found that works for me is not the same as any "program" someone may have read in a book, or even what works for them. At my age and my level of both strength and development I figure as long as it's working why change it, right? I can't do all the sets you younger guys do and maintain my strength. I get over trained too easily. So I have to do just enough, then leave it alone, as hard as that is sometimes, like when I'm feeling the pump and want to push it more and more.
He did ask me if I was on steroids, which sort of took me aback. My pause in answering due to the shock of him asking, may have given me away but I just said that I would never do anything like that.
I've decided to keep my current membership at my old gym as well. It's only $35 a month for both my wife and myself. I worked legs there Saturday. Force of habit I guess. Plus I'm old and change is really hard for me.

I like the gym Im at now. But I did switch from the gym I started at when I moved here.
