Anybody thats followed bodybuilding seriously over the years will recall Colemans mind blowing, hard to fathom tranformation from 2002 to 2003. He stepped onstage in 2003 weighing 40lbs heavier than in 2002, also with cuts even more sick than before. Everybodies jaw hit the floor when he stepped onstage and immediately the question was "Ok who's taking 2nd place?". That much of a gain for a seasoned pro who already had 5 O's under his belt is unheard of and remarkable to say the least. Hell, for ANYONE to gain 40 lbs of muscle in a year is insane. Keep in mind we are not talking about your average juicehead going on a bulker and putting on 40lbs of fat, water and muscle. We are talking stage weight - pure muscle. Unfuckingbelievable!

Many, including myself attributed most of that gain from an increase in drugs, ie, slin, GH, gear. That aspect we will never know, we can only speculate. Coleman stated the gains came from training heavier than ever before. But come on, this guy had always trained heavy - hell he started out in powerlifting. Can we really buy the fact that adding a couple plates to t-bar rows, squats, deads, etc added 40 lbs of muscle to an already seasoned elite pro? I don't buy it. But then you can't blame the guy - he can only go the training or diet route - not like he can come clean on any drug modifications he made that year. All I know is IMO, the package he brought that year is bar-none, hands-down, the best I have ever seen to hit a stage. He came in 7lbs heavier in '04, but wasn't as diced. I doubt I will see a physique like he brought to the table in 2003 again in my lifetime.

Anyways, to the main point of my post - here is an article by Chad Nicholls, who was Colemans long-time main man in the corner regarding his diet which transformed him during that year. He had Coleman eating upwards of 12-13k cals per day for much of that year - crazy! He also had him manipulating carbs bigtime. It's the first read I have ever seen regarding in detail what helped go into creating that monster in 2003. Very interesting read:

They are all freaks of nature! And of course Boston Lyod as well. lol

Ronny is the freak of freaks. It's tough seeing him now with all the problems he has. But if you're gonna race cars you're gonna get some dents.

Wish I had half his genetics. I'm bigger than the average dude but these guy make me look like a skinny white kid.

Genetics has to play a role.. I'd like to see guys such as him and Ramy get tested for lack of myostatin
