Well people today I'm getting married. Last night I was up thinking I was gonna hurl! I'm starting to freak out, but guess it's really no different than before, since I've felt married for a year anyway. She's crazy so I've already seen the dark side and know what I'm getting myself into :) I feel though that my lifting days have come to an end due to my injury, work schedule and very soon my pup will arrive. Many say, there is still a gym life after children but I have seen first hand, very strong, dedicated men completely stop!!! Maybe a home gym. I don't think I'll ever see a 465 bench again, sadly. I'll be one of those fat old guys in the gym talking about how I was very strong 25 years ago and have all the young guys in there thinking I'm full of shit.

bro that is not true at all - I spent a few thousand on my home gym and train around all of those distractions - it can be done and I am in better shape than ever now

for the price of a couple of years of gym fees

brotha, ive got a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old and im still hittin it homey....and trust me, my wife hates the fact i still want to train and get bigger.....if you REALLY want to stick with it you CAN....you might have to make some sacrifices as i do with losing an hour or so of sleep a few days a week, but its worth it.....

My gf of three months found out I've cycled and wants me to never thouch again. I told her I never would and life went on. It pisses me off when the s word comes up and so many morons thik the can tell you so much and the acually know nothing. Most of them got info from over dramatized stories of complete over usage and bad information.
With a bored that help newbies like this one, hopefully some of the bad stuff can be debunck.

Youll be fine. Im a single mom and i still found ways to take my daughter with me and work out. Trust me! you can be married and have a kid! Actually, its better cause there is someone else there to help! lol

Good luck!! and congrats on little baby and new wifey!:lue:

DaPit, first of all congratulations, so many changes are taking place with you, very exciting...
But with all the new changes this doesn't mean you have to give up on things that are important to you. Sure maybe a 465lb bench is out for you, but the shear joy of training and the feeling you get after pushing yourself to the limit in the gym can still be yours.

Obviously your new wife knows your desire to train and I'm sure she is supportive of that. Even with a new baby on the way compromise may be in order, but she should be there to support you as well as you support her in each others goals and hobbies.

Never give up something you love, and if training is truly something you love, then you will find a way to continue it.

Ah thanks. Guess I'm just a passionate kind of girl when it comes to training. I hate the idea of someone giving it up! :angel2:

Good luck you don't need to bench 465 to stay in shape.
Very well said (as always), a bodybulder wants to build muscle, unless he wants to be the world's strongest man.

First off congrats

and second off i agree with lifts completely, prob some time off will do you good and let your head clear and let you re-focus on the whole lifting game and maybe set some new goals.

Let the injury heal, and then come back and hit it harder then ever if you have the desire to push yourself to new records
