Thanks guys. I know the "why" on using it, didn't know how popular it was amongst y'all. Table sugar is sucrose, total junk. It has a moderate GI value (61) and generally something to avoid all of the time. Dextrose has a GI value of 100 and is the standard by which all other carbs are referenced against in terms of GI index.
I have a glucose meter and have found something really interesting since yesterday. My avg glucose level througout the day ranges between 88 and 102 (pretty solid). Keep in mind this is ranging from between meals, right after meals, etc... throughout the day. an hour after having 40g dextrose and 50g whey my glucose level was 78 Mon and 83 this morning. At first I was floored and thought the meter or test strips were fk'd up. Thinking about it some more, I think that I'm missing my glucose spike. What I mean is that after an hour, my insulin has already peaked and is doing it's job by storing that blood sugar into my cells and the result is lower than average. My next test is going to be to check my glucose levels every 10 min after my PWO shake. Stay tuned...
