I am very close to my gf and her mom. Her family is large, in both body size and number of people. They always eat high fat and heavy crab meals as a way to celabrate. Being that it is a big family there seems to be lots of reasons to get together to eat these huge meals.
In the past it has made it very diffacult to maintain the kind of eating habits I want to have. I was raised to eat if some one cooked for you, and I did not want to insult my gf's mother by not eating her cooking. So the other day I sat down for the first time and talked with my gf and her mom about my future goals and how the large, frequent family meals interfere with them. After all they make accomaditions for the veg heads in the family, why not for me...
It went pretty well and I'm glad I did it. Come to find out her mom was not even aware that I had goals which depended so heavily upon diet. It seems most people think BB is just about lifting weights. By sitting down and talking about it with them I wont have to feel bad about not eating what they are eating; or feel bad about eating a bunch of stuff that I really don't want to eat.
I'm glad I did it. This puts me one step closer to reaching my goals.
