good fats lower the GI of carbs correct???

If so... then why would it be bad to mix a few here or a few there ( i dont, but out of curiosity)

My response:

From what I have read is it slows down the digestion process. How much is another story.

Just like when people say they throw in olive/flax oil in with whey to "slow" down the digestion process. I don't believe it slows it down all that much.

I look at it like this. If we eat a pro/carb meal we are to eat every 2.5-3 hours. If we eat a pro/fats meal we are to eat again every 2.5-3 hours. So how is throwing some fats in a pro/carb meal going to slow anything down at all? I have never understood that, maybe some can throw some alternative thinkin on the fire for me.

Fats will slow down digestion, but you do not want to mix the three together, we do not want any insulin spike when fats are present...

I tried both Protein/carb and Protein/carb/fat together. It made no difference for me, if anything I feel I've done better having all three together. This is going to be all individualistic. Your carb choice is going to play a huge role as to weather or not you'll be able to get by using all three. I use low GI carbs all the time, so it makes no difference..

Actually fiber slows down carbohydrate absorbtion.

we k now this as well.. not the arguement bro...

we're just wondering if fat wil have no effect on BF if taken w/ low Gi carbs

to answer this question, no. Other factors can come into play though..

lol, well here it goes, Mixing fats w/ low Gi carbs will not lead to any fat gain in regards to insulin. If your carb choice is already low GI, you have nothing to worry about. Now if you mixed fats with high GI or even moderate GI carbs, then it's a different story. More insulin = more chance for your body to store fats eaten. It's pretty simple. when I say it all depends...it's just that, so many other things are going to come into play when you say "fat gain". If your eating to much, it doesn't matter if your mixing fats with Low GI carbs or not, you will still gain some unwanted fat.

i read in the book Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle, by Tom Venuto something to this effect:

"ignore the GI scale, since fats slow down carb absorption by slowing down digestion."

i think this is true because if we are digesting at a rate of 6 carbs per miniute the fat slows entire digestion allowing less to be processed, and turned into useful sachharides which are then let into the blood stream. The slowing down causes a slower rate of transfer to the bloodstream for example down to 3 carbs per miniute (the numbers just for arguements sake), thus giving a constant flow of carbs high or low GI to the blood stream.
