Guys does the pain pill tramadol effect protein sybthesis like nsaids do? I know tramadol is not a nsaid at least that is what it says on the net. I have had to take it before but only for a short period. The reason Im asking is my workout partner has to take it everyday now from a script from his Dr due to his back problem. I know its not strong so it will not effect his workouts or anything but he was wondewring about protein and i did not know the answer.he is a older guy and has had back problems for years.he was on stronger stuff but wants to try tramadol since its weaker and is not a nsaid.

By the way since he is older he stays on test at least 500mg per week always. But usually blast with a lot more.

Being 40 I get a lot of lower back pain from time to time. It seems to get worse while on. I don't take anything for it, I truly don't like pills so I try and deal with it. What I have found that has madea night and day diffrence is Flax seed oil. I know it shoulds a liitle off the wall but it has made a big diffrence for me.

Now keep in mind I have never had major back problems or surgery. I'm guessing your friend has had surgery.

Another thing that is strange is that if I don't stay in the gym my back hurts a lot even while just standing.

I was recently prescribed Tramadol for my broken hand because I can not stand the side effects of hydrocodone and if I am not mistaken the side of my pill bottle said acenomenephin (sp?)

well here is an article on how ibuprofrin and acenomenephin effect muscle syns.

No tramadol does not have acteametaphine in them.I told him to try the tramadol because of this.

I have to stay away from all pain killers.I tend to like them too much so I try not too take them.

If it were me I wold be asking the Dr for oxycodone or lortabs. :)

I found this on it

Tramadol is not a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID), and does not have the increased risk of stomach ulceration and internal bleeding that can occur with the use of NSAIDs. It also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. In 1998, tramadol became the most used centrally-acting analgesic worldwide; outselling morphine in dollars turned over. The success of tramadol is mainly a result of its favourable side effect profile, which differs significantly from that of other opioids.
