Bought a 40 year-old house 3 years ago and have been working ever since on the remodelling job. All hardwood floors to be sanded down and resurfaced, over 2000 sq ft of them, argghh!
Before that I went though 70 gallons of paint, and at 400 sq ft per gallon, that's near 28,000 sq ft of painted wall, ceiling, trim, etc,. surface. That's all coats included, but still a lot for just lil ol' me (even though I am an excellent painter).
Good recent news for me is I just put the third coat of varnish on the last of the hardwood floors needing redone; the dining room, living room, and central hallway, (big job logistically for a 4-person family with 3 cats). It's been a month on this job because of part-time work, bad weather, the heater breaking down, all slowing drying time, and just crappy floors to begin with. Now they shine like glass. If even a picky person like me thinks they're good, for the average person, they're fabulous (which they are).
Meanwhile, in the past 3 months, I installed the new lower cabinets in the kitchen, finished the walls, and put in a new Pergo floor (2 weeks ago). Haven't ridden my motorcycle since July. Every weekend gone to house projects except two days to go places with the kids, but it's all coming together now.
Well, enough stalling, guys are coming to install the new dish washer tomorrow. Yesterday I took a sick day (well, because on top of everything else I'm sick as a dog) and ran new romex cable to an individual outlet for the unit. Now I just have to fix the whole in the wall. Days never end, 8:45 PM on a Friday night and have to start a drywall repair job. Geez!
Oh well, it's a capital project and thank goodness I only have to do it once. Gotta git 'er done, so I'm out.
Thakns for listening.
