Today I went to the library. After stumbling through a few isles, I found an excellent book. It's called 'HARDCORE.' I'd recommend checking it out. Ronnie Coleman gives great training tips along with detailed exercises for each muscle group.

Sorry for the outrageously large photo. I'm a newbie when it comes to threads.

I seen him in person a few times, the guy is huge no doubt, but I was never fond of his physique.

His physique was decent (early 2000's) before the ole Polumbosim took over . I have to say as of late, Shawn Rhoden is one of the most aesthetic bodybuilders to hit the Olympia stage.

If you like that book you will love his vids - The Unbelievable, Relentless and Cost of Redemption. They are all on youtube. I often watch some of his vids as I am getting psyched up to hit the gym. The weights he used for a bodybuilder are unparalleled and are all shown in those videos - squats 800 x 2, dead 800 x 2, front squats 600 x 6, flat db presses 200's x 12, leg presses 2300 x 10, bb rows 500 x 10, t-bar rows 540 x 10 and actually breaks the steel V-bar handle while doing so, etc etc. Not to mention he does all these lifts only like 6 weeks out from the O - God only knows what he lifted during prime off-season haha! He set the bar to a new level and I doubt we will see a physique packed with so much shredded mass as he brought to the table in the 2003 O in our lifetime.

Coleman never had Polumbosim - that is where not only is the belly distended, but the arms and legs both get thinner - leaving one with just a big barrel of a torso with no taper and sticks for arms & legs, ie Kovacs (RIP) and Dave himself before he lost weight. While Ron DID have a GH gut, his arms & legs were enormous and the best onstage. Coleman also had a narrow waist, which helped to minimize the GH gut appearance from the front & back. Lastly, he was just so freakishly big & wide, his GH gut didn't appear so pronounced as it does on a smaller guy, such as a Roelly.

I'll check some of his videos out! I've seen a few of them but it's been a year or two. He was crazy strong. Those weights you listed are unreal. When someone breaks handles shit's off the wall heavy. Hahahaha. I wonder how he's doing after his double hip replacement.

Thanks for the correction, Hank. I was a little too critical of one of his photos from offseason a few years ago. Kovac's physique was horrifying towards the end of his career. Winklaar's gut is definitely pretty rough. I'll attach the pic of Coleman I was referring too. Big Ron is probably just out of shape due to retirement:

Ah yeah if you were referring to THOSE pics, you were spot on! I misread your post and thought you said "pre-2000". I seen those last year - sad really. I don't have a clue of why he would step onstage looking like that. I think in his own mind, after dominating sooo long, he thinks he STILL looks good haha. Wrong! One guy that still looks great is Dorian.

He has the record tied with most consecutive Mr. Olympia wins so he doesn't give a shit. Hahaha. Big Ron looks like Bloated Ron in my latest picture. Dorian does look really good for being an ex-pro. You hit the nail on the head there. It's amazing how Dorian is in decent shape. Especially after being so large for many years. Have you seen pictures of Paul Dillett in the past decade? He looks like shit.
