Going on a Honeymoon? Nope, Going Fishing

Normally when we get married, the first thing we want to do after the ceremony isn?t to go fishing, especially while wearing nice clothes.

However, people do strange things in the name of love, so we?ll let this bride enjoy her fun. Imagine if this was the reception!

Even Fish Can Have Perfect Timing

Fishermen often forget that underneath the surface of the water they usually see, there is a bunch of fish and other organisms.

Here we see a snorkeler who is exploring the underwater world with his friend. Chance would have it that a fish covered the snorkeler?s face as the photo was taken. All hail Fishman.

Time for an Intervention?

As kids, we may have had a favourite toy or blanket that we liked to cuddle when sleeping. Hobbies and interests change over time ? here is a man sleeping next to his beloved fishing rods.

Doubt his significant other would appreciate having the rods there, so we can only hope he cleaned them first.

Other Fish in the Sea?

This lucky man has a catch of a great girlfriend who is supportive of his fishing antics, being willing enough to act as a humorous prop in his latest achievement ? catching a fish almost as big as herself!

Epic Showdown

See how far the fish has pulled the man towards the water ? it must have been quite large. We can only speculate who won this battle?

Catching a fish is a battle that starts when the fish takes the bait. You?ll need to reel in the fish once it is hooked, and it will obviously go down fighting.

Fishing After a Flood

Torrential rain can lead to flooding, which causes many problems ? streets can be closed off and houses can be damaged. However, some people see it as a great chance to go fishing.

Goes to show that sometimes seeing life through another perspective can make a big difference.

Playing Hard to Get

Fishermen can spend minutes or hours waiting for their next catch. One of the benefits of fishing is that you can relax during the down time waiting for fish.

Some people use stands to keep their hooks in the water. However, this big fish taunted hopeful fishermen by swimming around the hooks without taking the bait.

Sign? What Sign?

Signs are often helpful because they can protect us (think signs that warn drivers of road conditions ahead). They can be found in various places for different purposes, one of which is to say ?no fishing from bridge.?

While this sign was probably meant to protect fishers, not many people seem to care.

Trapped in My Net?Or Two

Another popular tool for fishing is the net, which covers more surface area than a hook.

See how the woman is netting her catch, all while decked out in a headpiece with a rubber chicken and basketball net. Talk about fishing with style.

Are They Really Here to Fish?

Some fishermen are proud for having secret fishing spots. However, as fishermen scour around for good locations, the word eventually gets out.

However, in this case it seems like the fishermen aren?t here just to fish?

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

In this photo we can imagine what started out as a chill day go sideways. You?re on a boat fishing and relaxing while drinking beer, only to have the motor die.

It must be tough trying to fix the motor while also keeping yourself afloat in the water, so these buddies improvised.

Rock: 1, Boat: 0

The waters can be treacherous, which can be made even more dangerous with the presence of rocks. Amateur and even seasoned seamen can get trapped on the rocks, as we can see here.

Not sure how this man drove his boat up onto the rock, but he?s probably not going to get any fishing done here.

Those Sandals Look Fishy?

Flip flops are great footwear options for fishing, considering that they are low-maintenance and dry quickly when soaked.

Someone really loves fishing, because he or she has a pair of flip flops that look like real fish?

Teach a Man to Fish? From Potholes?

We know that flooding can open up many opportunities to fish in the city. The man in this photo took advantage of a large pothole ? which would have been very annoying in daily life ? and used it (literally) as a fishing hole.

Don?t think people will start appreciating potholes anytime soon though.

Gotta Bring the Whole Family

Family outings mean bringing the whole crew, which can sometimes complicate event planning, especially when little ones are involved.

We didn?t know that a crib was part of this family, but here it is, taking up more space than the other family members. We doubt the toddler will remember this experience, but it must have been very memorable for the other folks.

Big Smile

There are over 28,000 fish species in the world with different sizes, shapes, colours, and teeth. With this large diversity, there is bound to be a type of fish that has teeth similar to those of people.

Who knows ? maybe it also enjoys grilled cheese paninis and Thai food?

Really? Is It Nececessary?

While signs are usually useful, there are always those exceptions that make you think why people even bother. Here is one of these exceptions, where a bridge ?No fishing or diving from bridge? sign.

Sounds normal, except that there is no water under the bridge (literally yes, but figuratively?).

Age is Just a Number

Fishing is a relaxing hobby that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Indeed, people from different generations have bonded over fishing.

Although the man in the photo is elderly and using a walker, he is dedicated to fishing. Mind over matter, and a good reminder to enjoy life regardless of one?s age.

Well Played, Sir

When we say fishing is a relaxing hobby, we didn?t imagine lugging a Lazy Boy chair onto a boat like the men in this photo.

Props to them though, they must have had a very relaxing fishing trip. Let?s hope they didn?t fall asleep like they were at home in front of the TV.

Make Up Your Mind

Sometimes too many signs can be put up, so that people can be more confused than enlightened.

Here we see a ?Fishing bridge? sign in front of a ?Closed to fishing? sign. No fishing on the fishing bridge, really?

Fly Fishing with a Twist

Normally when we think of fly fishing, we think of someone on a boat, standing close to the edge so he can cast out his long line.

We don?t think of someone riding on a blow-up giraffe, though he may have the right idea, eh?

Reel Therapy

We?ve heard of retail therapy, where people go shopping to unwind. Others go to hot springs, exercise, or go fishing.

Here someone decided to honour the relaxing effects of fishing by coining a new term.

Thinking Outside the Box?Above the Ground

People can find creative ways to tackle various activities. Where Mr. Blow-Up Giraffe used something many of us can get from a local store, these guys brought in heavy machinery to help them fish.

Maybe they could see the fish with that bird?s eye view?

Lazy Boy Boat Guy, Meet Lawn Chair Boat Guy

Remember the guys who put large sofas on their boats? This guy ups the ante by floating on the water on a plastic lawn chair attached to two blocks of wood and a motor.

He gets extra points for creativity with a budget?maybe the fish he catches will help pay for a better boat?

Sorry, Cars Don?t Float

When putting a boat into the water, it is somewhat important to remember that the boat should go into the water instead of the car. We really don?t know what these people were thinking when they decided to drive the car directly into the water.

Maybe their only concern was to get the boat into the water? Hope they have good car insurance, or Oprah with free car keys.

Carpe (Flooded) Diem

This man seems to be enjoying life drinking beer in a pool. He also seems to be fishing while surrounded by elevated levels of water.

A true example on how to shut the world out, Fishing Buddha would be proud.

Challenge Accepted

If you?re a fish and can read English signs while living out of water, then this area is perfect for you.

The funny ?Swimming allowed only if you have fins and gills or feathers? sign is made more ridiculous by the ?Dogs please keep your masters on lease at all times? clause.

Relationships and Compromise

Not everyone in a relationship shares the same interest as their significant other. It?s great that this woman is willing to spend time with her man, even though she is obviously not interested in fishing (as she is wearing high heels).

Quid pro quo ? the man probably had to attend a flower arrangement workshop or a kombucha-making session.

Viking Fishermen

Vikings were known to be expert ocean navigators, so this group of fishermen must have been trying to channel their inner Norse warrior to get a good haul.

Sailing around in the Illinois Redneck Fishing Tournament is a little different from navigating the Scandinavian waters, but these guys get an A for costume and decoration.

Gone Fishing!

Fishing is ALL about the follow through. As we can see in the photo below, it looks like this man took it a little (or a lot) too far.

Remember to chill on the follow through unless you?re planning to take a dip in your jeans.
