Before I thought I was at least part mesomporphic but now I'm having a hell of a time trying to get that scale to move. I train DC style and have been doing cardio on off days (4 times a week). That's down from the ED cardio I was doing over the summer. I thought I wwould at least gain a little weight but I guess I was wrong. Obviously, I need to eat more but I'm not sure where to begin. If anyone here could help me out I'd appreciate it greatly.

I'm 17
Just weighed in at 150lbs
6.2-8.5% BF according to calipers

Eating about 2400 cals per day aiming for 300g protein a day with fairly high carbs (I've found that this is what works for me)

I have a journal at IM where I log my workouts and meals. Again, if ANYONE could help me out I'd appreciate it.

What kind of cardio you doing? Duration? Intensity? Time of the day?

Your pretty damn lean. Eat more :) Gonna have to give a little to get a little, ya know what I mean?

what are you eating for fats? you might want to increase your good fats, flax, fish oil etc............but sounds like you need more calories for sure

I pretty much avoid fats. I've found through experimentation that I thrive on high carb/high protein. I do supplements with fish oils. Other than that the only fats I get are from meats.

I think that may be a problem, add some flax oil, natty peanut butter, and I bet you just might gain some weight

El Animal you need to up your calories or lay off the cardio

kc, I'm assumiong you took a look at my journal. Thanks.

I plan to up the calories first and then assess from there. I already dropped the cardio to 4 days a week (it used to be higher)

I really appreciate all the feedback guys.

I can tell you my experience with the diet part. I thought was eating enough, and started getting help from a guy on IM. Shit he had me eating almost double what I was in carbs and did some other changes and can tell you my strength has gone up every workout. The diet will make or break you. I would up your calories 500 a day for a while or more untill you start gaining.

Yeah, some one mentioned that in my journal. I intend to do just that.

Like everyone mentioned, you need to eat more. if your not gaining weight with 2400 cals per day, that tells you this is about what you need to maintain your current weight. Up your calories by 200 if you afraid of gaining some bf. Keep a close eye on how things are and go from there. It's not bad to gain a little body fat when adding size..
