I went for a full physical last Monday with EKG and full blood workup. The EKG and blood work was really good. But I have a hernia, I have to wait until April 8th to get an evaluation by a surgeon. I don't think it's to bad as it isn't painful or causing me any problems. I'll have to wait and see what the surgeon says.

I had a umbilical hernia done no sweat. Quick surgery quick recovery.

I hope yours is as easy.

What type? Give me a call if you need advice outside of the board.

It's just a inguinal hernia, easiest to repair. If I need it fixed, I'll tell them to do as soon as possible and be back in the gym in a few days doing light upper body.

From what I understand umbilical hernias are more complicated and more difficult to fix. But still fairly easy. I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. That a quick and easy recovery.

Bummer.

Did you know you had an issue prior to them diagnosing it?

That's my question as well. I'm guessing you knew of it only visually since you said it caused you no pain. Either way, hope all goes smooth for ya chief.

I've had my umbilical hernia for years. My goal is to wait until I retire and let Medicaid pay for it instead of coming out if pocket for my deductible. It should be a relatively minor surgery. Probably chill on the weight loads for a bit.

Good to hear you can still train. With all this lock down BS I would lose it

It really doesn't bother me training, I noticed that something was off when I have to piss real bad and sometimes taking a crap.

Even though it doesn't bother have you been advised by your MD to take it easy?.....or is this surgery definite if want to get back in and hit it hard?

I've got an umbilical hernia, I've had it for a couple of years now. It barely sticks out so I don't worry about it for now. It's not something that will stop me from training.

I hope everything goes smooth and the recovery is fast.

I did 45 degree leg presses the other day went up to 8 45's on each and didn't feel pressure in the area of the hernia. I won't know if I even need surgery until I see the surgeon April 8.

Mine was not painful at all and didn't stop me from any type of training, however my Dr. told me most hernias are not a big deal "but an umbilical hernia can kill you" so I thought I would go ahead and get it done. I think I was in the gym 3 or 4 days later. I think it was suggested a couple weeks off.... but you know how we are.

Good ta hear that you can still get there without restrictions.

Maybe I'll keep an eye on mine then :D

Best of luck to you Lifts. Hopefully you'll have a quick recovery and back to 100% in no time

I'd get it fixed. I had one where the intestine was actually poking through and left a black and blue mark. They didn't waste any time getting it taken care of and told me it could cause death. LOL Unfortunately for me, the surgeon wasn't that great. He chose to make the incision through old scar tissue (gall bladder) and it looks like shit. To make matters worse, the mesh fucking migrated. Now they have commercials where you can sue for it. Either way, I'd get it taken care of if I were you.

I thought it would get worse faster than it has. I noticed it more than 2 years ago and it's still pretty small. Actually, it's gotten a little smaller. I could push it back in and feel air gurgling in it. Now I can barely tell it's there.

I looked up to see if they go away, it says they can but usually in kids that are still growing.
