If you have high lats

Which is a problem I see in alot of guys. Then try incorporating reverse grip barbell rows and machine pullovers (nautillus, hammerstrength etc.) Strict form and watch your lats turn into broad wings.

This a good subject here and Im interested . I can grow any other muscle just fine without a doubt but my dam lats "batwings" just cannot get to grow and be prominant .
I do every fukn excersise that suggests lat growth and still them pansy ass peckerwoods muscles wont define enough for me ...some say wide grip pullups ,,hell I go as wide and as many as I can , Bent over BB rows ,shit I row the fuk outa that bar ,,,,seated rows ,lat pulldowns ,,,crap I got the build of a tank just cant seem to get the wings you talk of .....Thanks for starting this post maybe I will get a few pointers in here

good post, it takes a lot of work to develop "batwing" style lats

the other suggestion i would make always, always do pullups with your back routine

Sounds like your dilemma could be lack of the mind-muscle connection with lats bro. Happens all the time - many guys get a helluva bicep pump when working lats, but nada in the lats. I would try lessening the weight on all your lat exercises, and really try to focus and feeel the lats pulling, not the biceps, and use excellent form. A trick that helps is when you are pulling, try to think of your arms as merely "hooks" to the bar and actually pull with the lats only. Another mind trick is to not even think of pulling at all, but think of "pushing" your triceps down/back. Once you make that connection and feel it in the lats, you should start seeing better results. :)

p.s...You might wanna try doing more narrow grip work on pull-ups & pulldowns, as wide grip limits the ROM and doesn't hit the lower lats as much.

I miss the hell outta the ol' Nautilus pullover. It takes the biceps completely out of the movement, and also allows for a peak contraction like no other in the lats. My lats would be pumped & spread like a mofo after 2 or 3 bust ass sets on that machine. :D While high lats is one of those muscle-shape-issues, as you mentioned certain exercises can help target the area.

nautilus pull over machine or similar really hits the lats right for lower lat activation. Some of it has to do with a lot of us white boys having a long back.

I have a long back and saggy nuts making it look even longer.

I love the Nautilus pulldown machine, but haven't used one in many years. Shit, i'm not sure if my gym has one now. I remember Dan Duchaine saying that this was probably the most under-rated lat movement, and was one he placed a lot of emphasis in doing.

Dan was shaped like a triangle.

I have high lats too now that I think about it. You guys with big wings, what's your back routine? The nautilus machine isn't an option for me since I don't have it. Lol
