Hows it goin fellas. I have a few questions about red kidney beans I was hoping you guys might be able to answer. Well for my lunch and/or mid afternoon snack I usually have brown rice as my carbohydrate source. However, having brown rice every freakin days gets pretty old. I've heard in the past that beans are a good source of carbs. I bought a few cans of organic red kidney beans from my local health store and noticed that they have an ENOURMOUS amount of fiber in them too! What do you guys think about replacing the rice with the beans on soem days, or maybe doing 1/2 cup of rice and 1/2 cup of beans? Also, due to the fact that the beans have such a high amount of fiber in them do you think I can get by without eating veggies during that meal? What do ya think?

I am not a big fan of beans, really upset my stomach. I eat brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and brown rice cakes for my carbs. Yes it gets boring, but I have been doing it for years and I don't even think about it anymore.

I eat alot of red and black beans, often I mix them with rice. If you don't get excess gas from them they are a quality food.

Good to know and thanks for the reply. I really don't get a noticeable gas from them. You think I can get away with substituting them for my veggies for my lunch since they are so high in fiber?
