Is becoming increasingly more painful with the addition of years on my body. Anyone have a knee friendly routine I can start trying?

Not me and I'm old as f*** as you well know. I just keep grinding away.

John Meadows has good programs that put less stress on the joints/knees, than other heavier programs. He stated in a facebook live session today that he is gonna write a blog on this, and how it relates to recent stuff regarding Levrone.

I reduce weight and add intensity at the same time with tempo. Try doing a set of squats with half your normal weight and take 5 seconds to go down, pause a full second in the hole, then explode up. Do that for ten to twelve reps and a few sets. Your quads will grow.

I hit legs only on my day off work. Even though I haven't squatted in years, I still go 110% with everything else, ie, leg press, hacks, exts, curls, stdl, calves. Guess if I half-assed it I could do it on a workday, but that's just not me.

Apparently there's a shitload more to recovery chemically speaking than test/GH levels. Back when I was in my 20's & early-mid 30's, I was natty - test levels were probably 1000 tops. I could trash legs, then go to work at a physical job for 12 hours and think nothing of it. Then as 40's-50's rolled around, I could be on, have test levels of around 3000-4000, yet still incapacitated after legs. Sure being on helps some, but nothing to the point of feeling like I did when younger regarding recovery. Assuming nutrition & rest are in check now just as it was back then, why is that? Guess that's a fountain-of-youth Q haha.

test and Gh will help you with muscle soreness but I think ozzy is complaining about joints and bones. No amounts of test and gh is going to bring back the youthful joints. All you can do is train smarter to avoid further damage and not have to get joint replacement (s)

I wake up with knee pain from doing nothing so I would love to hear about knee friendly rpuntine

I wish I could find a good leg routine that worked that wasn't hard on my knees. I have tendonosis in my knee pretty bad and it kills me when I do presses or any up down movement. I always warm up my knees with light ext for lots of reps to get the blood flowing but not wear me out. My knees hurt the first few reps then they get used to it and are good until I stop then during my rest they stiffen up again. I can still do 1600lbs for 6 reps on the leg press but the first 2-3 reps are real tough because of my knees. Leg day used to one of my favorite days but now my knees make me dread doing legs.

Thanks
TMM

My gym doesn't have a hack squat machine

Being your knees are an issue you wouldn't want one bro. They put tremendous pressure on the knees and are the first exercise I gotta drop when having bouts of knee pain.

I just need to figure out something because I love thick legs and mine have lost size over the last 2-3 years because of my knee issues.

At some point you're going to settle into maintenance training
Not trying to move forward but keeping yourself from going backwards. Lower weight, higher reps.

Old bastard w knee problems here ....

15 minutes on the bike and 15 minutes of Leg Extensions (light weight to begin; really squeezing at full extension) are the ticket for me.

Then and only then are my legs ready to be punished.

**I do not need to do this for posterior legs day
