My personal opinion. I do not recommend using Express Mail. Unless you have 34-40.00 to waste. The old Express Mail 1-2 days are gone. They will give you an arrival date. But good luck collecting on it. They have so many excuse. Why you can not get an Express Mail refund. In the end. You may get your refund but it is pure hell. Some one I know currently are going to the example below. As most of you know. We try to not wake up sleeping bears on packs. Due to many reasons.
your Express Mail from Dec 23, 2026, hasn't arrived and lacks scans,
it's likely delayed due to holiday volume or a missed scan, but since it's Express, you can request a refund for service failure, file a missing mail search with USPS after a few days, or check with the recipient/sender, as sometimes scans are missed or packages get stuck in transit, especially during busy seasons like late December.
Immediate Steps:

Immediate Steps:
- Wait a bit: Sometimes, during peak times (like late December), packages can be delayed a few days without scans, or scans get missed at initial drop-off or sorting.
- Check with Sender/Recipient: Confirm they haven't received it and if they have any internal delivery confirmation.
- Submit a Missing Mail Search: After a few days without updates, you can file a formal search request with USPS (often called a "Missing Mail Search") through their website.
- File for a Refund: Since it's Priority Mail Express, you are eligible for a refund if the delivery commitment isn't met. You can file a refund request for failure of service within 30 days of mailing.
- Contact Your Local Post Office: They can help with service requests or provide guidance on filing claims.
- Missed Scans: A scanner may have malfunctioned, or postal workers missed scanning it at pickup or a processing center.
- High Volume: Extreme holiday volume can slow down processing and scanning.
- In Transit Delays: It could be stuck on a train, truck, or in a sorting facility for an extended period without scans.
