his theory of doing hams before squats worked wonders for my squats and knee health. just wondering if same philosophy will work for doing bicep before bench press? I've read lee Haney did this years ago. theoretically I can see it easing shoulder or elbow pain on bench press doing this way. anyone tried it before?
for example:
1. standing BB curl 4 x 8-10
2. machine preacher curl 4 x 15(with 20 partial reps on last set)
3. bench press
and so on...

I used to hit back & shoulders for the same reason. When having RC issues, hitting the back first stretches and loosens up the entire shoulder area in a way that RC isolation warm-up exercises don't do. Also, having the back pumped and bi's slightly also, I could actually use more weight on militaries, pbn, etc than if I did shoulders first - and with less shoulder pain. Also, I've been supersetting bi's & tri's for quite awhile now bcoz it helps alleviate alot of the elbow pain compared to hitting tri's with no bicep pump.

Regarding your scenario, I can see hitting back before chest to alleviate shoulder pain, for the same reason it did with me in my example above. I can't see that hitting bi's before chest will lessen shoulder pain, but it should help with elbow pain. Back & chest is a big workout, so perhaps even doing only a few sets of pullups or pulldowns before chest would help, due to how they stretch the shoulder girdle so much, not to mention pumping the lats for increased stabilization on the bench.
