why I worked out in my basement for 9 years. Fuckin' New Years resolution douche bags!

I was pretty excited my new gym was open today for 5 hours so went to get a workout in. The free weight area was completely full and I didn't see a single person do a full range of motion rep the whole time. The place has like 50 pieces of cardio equipment and I had to wait for a machine! Usually there is 10-15 people in the cardio area.

I was shaking my head so much my neck hurts. :D

Guess I just have to make it through the next 2 months and it will be back to normal.
 
Ive been watching that for years.

Its hilarious or sad.

A bunch of people thinking they can get a fit body like a drive thru McDonalds meal.

I switched to one of those scary gyms, so I guess I will miss out on that sight this year.

Anyway, be patient. They will disappear by February.

I just returned from the gym. I will have to get used to people speaking to me again.
 
My gym has been infiltrated by a dozen out of shape jiggly things. I like it. I like to watch betw sets.
 
It's a burden we must endure every year. . . . My gym looked as if a "crypt" had been emptied into it. Nothing but fossils!!
 
That's why I avoid the evening after work rush. My time is around 2pm most days and its crickets in my gym:)

You seen how slow mine was last week Mondo when we went and then New Years day you couldn't get it the door!! It took me 15 mins of staring down people to get the smith machine! :squintfin But hell they we're just playing and really didn't know what they were doing to start with! :at:
 
I love the angled Smith Machine. Best thing, is always available because hardly anyone in my gym ever uses it.
Silly nuebs, stretchy machines are for kids.

The New Years resolutions will soon be history, LL, you know how it goes. Once they realize that they can't have the body they want in 3 weeks they will go back being a couch potato :tounge2:
 
I have been able to deal with it because my job is flexible enough that when I'm in town(most of the time) I can just run over during the day and workout. It is dead during the day with only a few soccer Moms on the trend mills and a few retired people.

My daughter has volleyball practice one evening a week so I workout during that time since I'm there already. It is a mad house right now in the evening.
 
This is pretty funny shit. Yes My gym is the same. It used to be empty pretty much most of the time. their main gig is indoor tennis, but they decided to knock out all the racquetball courts and build a first class gym. All of the plates are iron. Some York plates. Lots and lots of plates. two complete sets of dumbbells ranging from fifteen pounds to two hundred pounds. They must have bought out and old gym. Lots of Hammer Strength Machines.Two smith machines, two squat racks just about everything I have ever seen in some of the many gyms I have belonged to over the years.( No neck machine though) All this and it was empty. That was two years ago. Last Friday night around 6:pm I thought I would go and do some squats for a few hours. Forgetaboutit.
Place was jammed. I almost wanted to step up to these people and say "What muscle do you think you are working right now because it is nowhere near what You think it is. ." Doing pull downs with absolutely no extension. Just swaying their bodies acomplishing nothing at all. 18 year old kids doing a form of barbell curls that I have never seen before. One kid lost his balance he was swaying so bad. These people need help and I am not going to be the one to give it to them. Either learn the basic movements or take up tennis .
