I did deadlifts last night for the first time in almost 8 months... I felt ambitious I guess. I did 4 sets 15x12x10x10 reps and wieght was 135x185x 225x250lbs. WOW my freak'n back is killing me!!

Last night I iced it and used Icyhot and I still woke up sore and slow today.. This sure is making cardio difficult today...

I think I might lay off deadlifts for awhile again.... :squint:

Deadlifts, heavy squats and Bent rows should probably avoided this close to a show. Can't risk injury.

First thing in the morning after doing anything like that with your back is to stretch. Its gonna hurt like a motha, but it will help it, trust me. Im just coming off a lower lumbar strain, and it sucks. Whenever doing deads, squats, etc. it tightens up and im forced to stretch throughout my entire workout.

Icing will help after a workout, but in the mornings, try using a heating pad or take a hot shower. Hopefully that will help.

Thanks for the tips! The ice that night helped a lot! I think I will try the stretching thing... I'm really bad at remembering to do that!

And Lifts I know you're right. I thought about the whole injury thing after I completed that exercise and realized it wasn't the smartest decision... I will continue deadlifts AFTER October! :)
