Well, it appears my string of no luck has changed.
Six years I put up with taking crap at my skool (tchg jb).
Now, since the distrikt has announced plans to restructure 18 skools this summer, I figured I'd get dropped, because I didn't ever fit in with the "progressive-youth ppl" who had been in charge for the last 6 years of my bldg.
All tchers were let go, but were guaranteed an interview with the new principal. Up to 50% could be hired back.
Putting my fear and apprehension aside, I went to the interview anyway, but with the attitude of, "Fuck it," just to get it over with, but to my (and everyone else's) surprise, he picked me among 15 total picked from the 40+ who applied.
Turned out to be a big surprise for just about everybody.
The best part is, he totally shattered the past regime, amazing! Finally, someone who exhibits and requires adherence to Conservative-Christian values based on merit!
You may get a kick out of the line-up of teachers he kept, to quote my colleage, "the guys look like the offensive line of a football team, and the girls look like cheerleaders and gymnasts."
Ha, ha, I guess all my certifications and degrees came in handy, but in the end, it was the deadlifts the got me the job!
CLASSIC!
Now I have the summer with my kids and the swimming team.
How could it be any better... well. lemme get back to you for that!
All I know was, I walked out of there on the last day (after the faculty luncheon) with a grin on my face from ear-to-ear and haven't been able to get it off since!!
