Imo, he turned his head and ignored what was going on. I think he didn't do his duty as an adult to protect those boys. Really sad situation for sure.

if what I heard is true, then lots of people dropped the ball and they should all pay a price.

Really... you witnessed the sodomy of an 11 year old in the shower? and didn't straight up kick the guys ass??? Really??? Paterno should have never been dragged into it, but since he was, he should have gone to the cops.

This! ^^^

I also know kids/teenagers are evil(can be) and its hard to say what's true and what's fabricated.

Fuckin sad...

My guess is that if you dug deep enough into almost any sports program or other activities that put adults in positions of power or influence over adolescents you would find similar situations. it is regrettable but true. many years ago, the boy scouts recognized this as a problem and very quietly put into place several rules designed to protect the youth, ALWAYS HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO ADULTS PRESENT, NEVER BE IN A ROOM WITH A CLOSED DOOR UNLESS THERE ARE TWO ADULTS PRESENT. they instituted some others rules as well but these two seemed to be pretty effective. i also think there should be mandatory third party information sessions explaining these issues and remedies for the adolescent participants.

sports, church, schools, all of these places our children should be safe!
