The body doesn't react to different types of protein in any different manner, except speed of assimilation. Protein powders especially whey protein are assimilated much faster than whole foods, which take longer to be digested and broken down into amino acids.
I used to think whole foods were far superior to any powders, but with the tremdous strides that have been made in protein powders over the last 10 years, I'm not sure there is much difference. People often confuse chemical scores with BV protein ratings, but a whole egg still scores higher on the BV scale than anything else with a PERFECT rating of 100, which means 100% of the egg is assimilated and used. There can't be a score higher than 100, because you can't assimilate more than 100% of any protein.
