Hey bros, after being in the paper industry for 20 years and now being in the automotive sales for almost 2. It appears to me the shit is getting worse. Just wanted to know what it's like in your part of the country and are you in sales or what. Just curious

I'm just the same as far as my job goes but I've noticed price hikes on most everyday consumer goods, food, fuel, etc.

besides fire fighting I am in the construction field. Here in western Mass. we arnt doing too good. Worse then last year I have to bend over backwards to find work.

up in canada it isnt too bad well here anyways but if usa starts getting really bad it will prolly lead to a slow down in our market for some things anyways

Well I'm just curious. But I agree totally. I think its getting worse all over the country.

Thanks bros

I have run a cattle operation and have also worked on the sales side in the automotive industry for around 15 years. I thought I was done last year.
I passed my total income of 2009 in June of this year. It's getting better where I am.

Not wanting to speak too soon but I'm in the final stages of getting a new job which will almost double my current salary. It's away from offshore, land based in Nigeria teaching first aid and emergency first response, kind of my ideal job with a top day rate to boot. Not sure the rotation but it's looking like 4 weeks on/off. Should provide a better standard of living for me & my wife.

sounds good Scots.Good luck!! You would think that they would hire people with industrial experience, but here if you haven't been a Roustabout or deck hand you can forget it right now....

Financial-wise not as good, but OVERALL-wise 1 million percent better haha! :p To elaborate, the factory I worked in for 23 years closed down at the end of '08. However, due to a clause in the contract, my time there combined with my age qualified me to begin recieving my pension immediately....I was the youngest there to qualify at 45 y.o. :D Sooooo, my income is much less but I don't have to do dick now!lol Not to mention I hated that job...saying I have much more peace of mind is an understatement. The clause also lets me keep health insurance for a small price. I was blessed indeed. :)

Well let me ask you guys this and I dont want to get in a debate about politics, but do you guys think we would be in the same boat if we have a Republican in office as president?

Or do you guys think its just beyond that.....

pretty sweet, what have you been doing with the extra time, been traveling al ot?

Its gonna be another year or two before things start to grow again, same here in the UK. Right now if your in work, whatever work, your doing well

Mainly visiting family bro. Keep in mind I moved out of state for work back in the 80's when I was like 22 or so. In the beginning, I would visit back home 3-4 times per year, as I missed family AND many friends. But as the years/decades passed, I was down to only visiting back home 1x per year. My parents are old, and thank GOD they are in great shape physically and mentally for thier age. Nobody lives forever, hence I'm trying to spend alot of time with them and the rest of my family to try to "catch up" per se from the past 25 years.

Enuff about me...what you been up to the past few years and now youngblood? You ever achieve your goal of the real-life "Boiler Room" gig? :p Still pretty? Still cycling var at 10mg ed? Holla brutha! :igok:

no jobs here at all besides the usual.. teachers, nurses, cops, etc.
