Sacrifice ? Really ...

So, As we all grow older and age become more mature and adult like we learn to sacrifice things we have worked hard for and enjoy wether it be our time , our personal things and posessions .We as Men and Ladies know the right thing to do to benifit our family in times of needs wether it be right or wrong we do as adults what needs to be done .I mean we do anything and everything to ensure our kids health and safety, ensure they have the things they need and want to better there lifestyle ,We step back and sacrifice things to make that happen on a daily basis.As adults we all have our physical posessions that we enjoy like boats , guns , motorcycles ,fast cars or whatever it is you enjoy . In todays economy with the budject cuts , the financial burden of cost increases and fuel consumpiton and etc . Have you had to sacrifice by selling your items ,by giving up something that you truely loved and cherished to benifit the family in a time of need ? tell us about it , let this be a thread where we can talk about why we do what we do when it comes to sacrificing our truely liked and needed items to better the lifestyle of our familys. When I was younger I loved my truck , Had a huge chevy 4 door4x4 jacked up huge tires and a matching bass boat .My first son was born and we needed the money to buy a farm so I sold both of them .It made me mad and glad all at the same time . I was happy to provide my family with something we needed more than the truck and boat but I was also angry because I gave up the truck and boat that I worked so hard on .
I guess where I am going with this dumb thread is , Im at a pinchpoint agian fellas .
Its time for me to make a decision on wether to get rid of one of my personal Big Boy toys to better the family in a time of need so let me in on some of your experiances ...Its never easy sacrificing our stuff as adults cuz we work so hard to gather or stuff that we enjoy in our off time but we do it ,Is it becuase we value our family more than ourselves ? Has society just tought us to provide for others before ourselves ?
It all goes back to the 2 sided feeling....happy to provide better things by selling off our toys for our loved ones, OR
Mad and angry but willing to do it becuase you feel its the right thing to do ...

We're selling my wife's car('04 vette), so we don't have any debt when we go to buy a new trailer house this week.
My kids have way better than I did and I'm not giving up what I've worked for so they can have more toys and shit they play with for only a week.
 
times are hard . even those uf us with a job wonder every day how long we will have it. ive thought about selling the toys now myself to get rid of debt.
 
When I first got hurt and was out of work I had to sell my prize 67 Camaro to get Christmas for the Kids and pay some bills so I can relate bro,, Money isn't everything as long as the family is taken care of that's all that matters to me anymore..
 
Im single, so i havent had to sacrifice anything yet and i plan to stay that way for atleast half my life, or untill i get tired of one nighters.

Actually, to really think about it i sacrificed my career working on boats over in Port lincolin about 5 or 6 years ago. My father got sick with bowel cancer for the 4th time so i came back to Adelaide. Due to the surgens cutting up half his intestines he was in the hospital for about 7 months without a meal. so i moved back into my parents house. after his first new job after he got better he just couldnt hack working full or even part time. So while all this ws going on i managed to pull a pretty sweet job down in Adelaide. Me and my mother came up with the idea of me moving back in permanantly and going halfs in the mortgage with her. I said sure, why not. Its some good collateral for when i move out and it will take the stress of my father. Everythings going really sweet in my life lately, i work out, renevate the house, spend time with my family and i couldnt ask for much more. So in a way i did sacrifice a high paying job,freedom, the wild weekends blowing my money on booze with woman, fishing, but with what i got now doesnt even compare to those days. I dont know if you could call that a sacrifice......
 
It's just stuff. Family comes first, no questions, no debate. If one is willing to lay his life down for a member of his family, then one should be more than willing to give up a prized personal possesion.

As for me, I've never invested in something big. I think the biggest monetary sacrifice I feel I've made for my family is to discontinue the use of AAS. Freed up a couple of hundred dollars a month. Been training miserable, errr, I mean natural ever since.
 
My daughter Sarah has been through so much in her short life and has been through 4 different schools since kindergarten. She's a brilliant child, but only only scraped by in school when her mom wrested custody from me and put her on 38 mg Concerta (timed release ritalin) for 3 years.

I had to work 2-3 hrs a night last year to get her grades caught up, and this year I was able to get her in Mount Notre Dame High School. This is the best college prep all girls school in this part of the state, and she is finally thriving socially and academically. My biggest regret in life is not finishing my college education and I won't let her make the same mistake. Tuition, monogrammed uniforms and various other "necessities" like a new laptop and a required $100 graphing calculator add up to well over $15,000 a year. I need a new car, but that will have to wait.

I don't consider this a sacrifice as Sarah is my whole world. Material things just can't match the feeling of pride I get when she brings home straight A's. :)

BIKERTRASH sold his RoadKing on Sunday that I took 2 winters building and perfecting , this Harley would beat the wheels of crotch rockets and most any other bike that rolled .It was fast , low , mean and loud .....AND I FUKN LOVED that bike .....
I sold it for all the right reasons , grown men do have feelings and when it left on a trailor it hurt ...But Its since gone and My entire family will benifit and be better off with the wealth that came from its sale..............Appreciate the kind words above fella's
Same may say "Its just a bike" ,,,well yes it is just a motorcycle ,,but when your BikerTrash its also a lifestyle .....
